Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

The month is nearly over and there hasn't been snow in a week. Yesterday I took my Patio Umbrella out to the deck and moved a few tables for flower pots there as well. It's too soon to begin the process in earnest but just doing this made me happy. My upstairs garage area is almost ready for a sa...

I take nothing for granted. I am learning daily that everyday is truly a gift that we can't count on. In the last week I have heard of three deaths. The first was a an extended relative of a friend, who was 90 and I didn't know her but did know of her. The second was a former boss, a real estate ...

It isn't often that we discuss animals we don't see. However, Myrl mentioned there weren't any black squirrels in her neck of the woods: namely northern California. I have seen some here, (in western Massachusetts) but the other day I saw a really black one. Not the best picture because taken fro...

I like to photograph birds, or animals or scenery of any, and all kinds. I have an active yard and it seems that critters of many types and species come here to live or at least visit. The other day I saw these doves in my yard: something I had never seen before. Anna Banana commented on another ...

Just another story that could relate to any and everything. Once there was someone who represented A but delivered B. It happened to me yesterday. I ordered something online and after three conversations, when the invoice arrived the shipping and handling was markedly more than represented. I wan...

This little one is new here. Not the usual suspect just a new bird in the neighborhood. I saw it yesterday, twice actually. From the eyes I knew it was the same one: strong, resolute, and afraid of nothing. I was able to see others around, but this one came forward as if to say: "hey, this is now...

I know it wasn't yesterday but after the Patriots Win in the Superbowl, the Bierstadt painting from Seattle came to The Clark in Williamstown for a three month loan. Yestersay I saw it and others in a neat visit and lecture there. It was prominently shown in the front hall of the original buildin...

It's funny but just writing the title makes me think about going to the doctor: must be a senior thing. In any event, my year has been a good one so far. I am moving right along in my new old home. Almost all of my construction projects were complete and then I had an ice damming problem and it w...

For me a good garage sale is a great day and a wonderful opportunity. After a bitter winter it is good to see the ads again. So Yesterday on an unusually chilly day I drove to two sales well advertised and appealing. Neither sale was on. No notes, no explanations: in essence no nothing. I was bum...

While the garden stores were open and busy in the last week, it snowed yesterday. Yes, my pansies had snow on them and it was a bit harder to get and place more rocks. There is no spring in New England. It is just the way it is, no spring here just winter summer and fall.
