I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

It's a quiet Sunday evening at my house. Not a whole lot is going on. I thought about going to the Greek Food Festival in town, but was afraid I'd be too tempted to dance. I did cook up a pleasant little supper though. It consisted of Broiled Lobster Tails with Lemon Butter and Garlic. There was...

Sacramento has been locked into a heat spell, with temps hovering in the 100+ degree range.  Local outdoor activities this Labor Day Weekend, aren't something found to be especially comfortable.  However, last evening, I hosted a little gathering at my home, which was kept indoors. For dinner I co...

My dad lived his life as an avid fisherman.  He worked on the railroad during the week, but come weekends, he often headed where water dwelled. When I was a small child, we trekked to either the Sacramento or American River to harvest fresh water fish.  However, when I was about 6 or so, dad’s fis...

Here are my answers to the 21 questions put forth by Margaret Rome and Ray Henson for the August Challenge.1. We all go on vacation to get away from it all and have a great time, but I want to know, what vacation day was your worst? My worst vacation day was in July of 2001.  I was with family in...

During my 40 years as a Realtor, I encountered few real estate professionals, who at one time or another hadn’t occasionally experienced difficult, or nearly impossible client to work with. The methods which these agents handled those situations varied. (1) Some agents simply fire the client.  Wi...

Homebuyers sometimes wonder, with all things being equal regarding location and schools, what has more value (1) A house with 1500 square feet, which has a large Great Room concept, few halls, and well utilized space, OR (2) A house with 2000 square feet with large wide halls and stairways that c...

Yesterday, after a long early morning swim, I came home and did a little gardening too.  Visions of what's for lunch began to materialize.  Choices are sometimes difficult. However, I'm learning at my age, choices aren't always necessary, if everything is available. The testament is in the photo...
