I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

When the weather gets stormy outside, I often spend time searching my family history and genealogy records.  Yesterday was one of those days spent creating descendant charts, which record generations of family flowing from a common ancestor.  While winds blew and rains fell, time easily passed.O...

Once the Holiday Season has passed, and the beginning of a New Year has begun, home sellers often turn thoughts to preparing their homes for market.   This, more than any other housing cycle I remember as a Realtor these past 30 years, has produced a larger percentage of vacant properties li...

I make no secret, that I’m not much of a sports fan.  But, I do love having folks come together for fun and good food on Super Bowl Sunday.  Good company and good food help make a house a home. With the Big Day quickly arriving on February 5th, it’s time to plan food for the event.  In the past, I...

Before I crawled out of bed this morning, I thought I really needed to write or blog something.  Yet, thoughts about WHAT to write seemed to lag behind.  Should it be something about the “What’s Happenin’ Now in Sacramento?”  Or perhaps a favorite recipe?  Other thoughts had me thinking about mon...

We are dwelling in an era, when a large percentage of homes across America, are upside down in equity.  In other words, there is more owing on the property, than the current value. We have been operating in this environment for several years now.  Those of us who work in real estate as a professio...

It’s not often that I am asked the question, “What is the real estate ‘absorption’ rate?”  But, occasionally the question will arise. The question is one sometimes asked by folks interested in buying or selling real estate; or for those simply interested in current market condition.  The term, “re...

I watched a cute movie titled,“Tortilla Soup” the other evening.  A friend had recommended it because of my interest in cooking.  Although the movie had been released a decade ago, I hadn’t seen it.This delightful PG 13 rated movie has one of my favorite actors, Hector Elizondo, who played the co...

Without a doubt, this housing cycle more than any other I've experienced as a Realtor these past 30+ years, has produced a larger percentage of vacant properties listed For Sale.    In addition to the avalanche of REO or bank owned properties; and number of homes being marketed as short-sales, a...
