maryland schools: Another "WOW" Moment for Maryland Public Schools - 02/09/11 07:18 PM
Maryland public schools are ranked #1 again, less than a month after they were ranked #1 by Education Week, College Board and Newsweek for the highest percentage of rigorous high schools in America.
For the 3rd straight year, Maryland had the highest percentage in the nation of high school seniors scoring 3 or higher on an AP exam. According to the College Board's Annual AP Report to the Nation, they also scored 1.6 percentage points better than they did in 2009.
The "WOW" moments for Maryland education and higher education just never seem to end, do they?

"For the third straight year, Maryland's public education system received number one rankings in 2011 from Education Week, College Board and Newsweek for the highest percentage of rigorous high schools in America.  We should all be truly proud for these consistent and remarkable accomplishments."
Nancy S. Grasmick, State Superintendent of Schools
