(Photo credit: Vintage Motoring.blogspot.com) 1906 Rolls Royce 30hp in front of Euclid Hall on Upper West Side, of Manhattan on Broadway between W 85th and W 86th Streets. Built in 1903 to take advantage of the new subway, which was built in 1904, the building had red brickwork with iron details. The first tenents were prosperous professional types and many families had live-in-servents.

Hello Brooks Brothers. Goodbye Filenes Basement Activerain members and upper west side residents, homeowners and landlords that have been reading my blogs may remember my post from July 2007 titled Say No to Drugs Store Chains when I discovered that all the stores on my block were being forced to close. The new landlord who just inherited the building wanted a big box.

Verdi Square Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue between West 73rd Street and West 73nd Street on the Upper West Side. Verdi Square is a small triangular shaped piece of land with the Giuseppe Verdi statue (opera singer) enclosed by fencing on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. In the early 1900s the square served as a gathering place for musicians, including Enrico Caruso, Arturo Toscanini and Igor Strativinsky.

Broadway is the busiest boulevard on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Everything happens on The Boulevard. Upper Broadway, the hub of the Upper West Side architecturally is an eclectic mix of pre war buildings with modern luxury full service buildings. BROADWAY MALLS: The Centerpiece of BroadwayFrom 60th Street to 168th Street, lies a history filled median of greenery and flowers called The Broadway Malls. The Malls were established in 1904 and have been a New york City park since 1904. Having lived on Broadway for the past 15 years, I've often admired the Malls and love how wide Broadway is with thousands of merchants and residents facing Broadway these 10.5 acres of parkland serve as our front yard.
