Friends, food, fun, and fireworks! Every July 3rd, the Town of Addison, a Dallas Texas suburb, celebrates Independence Day by hosting Kaboom Town. It's rated in the top 10 fireworks displays in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association. And two years ago, it was ranked as the #2 best in the nation. 
 
This year, I got an invitation to the event's VIP area. The tickets provided us a delicious dinner of pulled pork or brisket sandwich, with mac & cheese, baked beans, and red, white, and blue popcorn, plus drinks. {Sorry - no photo of the dinner; it was eaten before … (7 comments)

Addison, Texas is a small but mighty town. Each July 3rd, we celebrate our nation's independence with a top rated fireworks show, Kaboom Town. This year, Kaboom Town ranks #2 on the list of fireworks displays, second only to the one in Washington D.C.
Admission is free to Addison Circle Park, but space is limited. It is advisable to get there early. The park opens at 4:00 pm and the festivities begin at 5:00 pm. The fireworks are visible throughout the town, and many restaurant host watch parties.

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Addison's KaboomTown on July 3rd in Addison Circle Park.
This free event is more than just fireworks.  Come early (5:00 pm) and stay late (midnight) to avoid the traffic.

Here's the lineup for the main stage entertainment:
5:00 PM          1st Division Calvary Band - Ft. Hood 
6:30 PM          Studio 54
8:15 PM          Dallas Wind Symphony
9:35 PM          Fireworks (approx. time)
10:00 PM            Cinema in the Circle:       Ferris Bueller's Day Off
