homeowners: 5 Steps To Help You Develop A Home Buying Strategy - 06/17/16 06:26 AM
Before any buyer starts their home buying journey, developing a strategy of what you want out of your home is a very important first step.
Some people want to find a so-called "Steal". Others focus on the location, some on amenities.   As everyone has a different point of reference you can imagine the strategy can become a bit out of focus.
Below are 5 strategies that will keep you on the right track when selecting a home.

1.  Pay Market Value of Less:  Getting a deal is great and believe me it is your Real Estate Agents goal as well. But the … (4 comments)

homeowners: Portola Hills March Home Values, has Spring Sprung? - 04/05/16 04:58 AM
The real estate market is in full swing in the Portola Hills community of Lake Forest.  This week alone, 4 homes have come on the market... has spring sprung for homeowners?
Looking at the community of Portola Hills, the number of sales was down with 7 homes closing escrow in March 2016 and 10 in 2015.   The mix of homes also is an important factor.  In March of 2015 it was a pretty balanced mix of condominiums and single family residence.  While this past march it was all single family residence, bringing up the median price point 37%.   The price … (0 comments)

homeowners: Calling for a Recall on Mortgages-There's an Idea! - 02/20/10 05:58 AM
I was just reading an article in the Orange County Register about the shadow foreclosure inventory and it may not be a surprise but in Orange County there is an estimated 13 months of inventory not on the market.
So as everybody wonders why the banks hold on to them, waiting for solutions a thought came to my mind.
Let me know if you agree.....
A mortgage is a product - Correct?
If a bad product is sold to consumers, the manufacturer of the product is held accountable by various consumer protection agencies. Correct?
And if it is a massive problem, … (10 comments)

homeowners: New Housing Bill Will Force Loan Modification - Why isn't California pushing for this? - 10/06/09 04:06 PM
Maybe a little hope on the horizon. Thanks Claudette.  Now if they can get it through quick enough so the masses in trouble don't loose their homes.

Four senators are putting their muscle behind a new housing bill intended to prohibit lenders operating in the U.S. from foreclosing on home owners without first having discussed reasonable modification options with the borrowers.
The bill, called the Preserving Homes and Communities Act is being sponsored by Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island.
Under this bill, lenders will be forced … (2 comments)

homeowners: Is Irvine Ready for the Rich and Single? - 07/22/09 10:37 AM
Saw this article today in the O.C. Register and have to agree.   Though the city of Irvine is often described as a "family" town, it is a sought after home location for many singles. As noted in the article, 33% of the residents are single!

Here are three examples of why my single clients like it:
Location to the 405/5 freeways provides easy commuting to work and other social communities such as Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, etc. Excellent community amentities with shops, restaurants, movies, sports, etc. Design of homes are geared toward a more active lifestyle vs. traditional homes.  Open living … (0 comments)

I was talking with a potential home seller the other day and it was just a casual conversation about the current state of the market in the area of South Orange County, California.  They were considering listing their home but did have some reservations.  They had met with several agents and met me at a local open house and asked me to prepare a current market evaluation.
After reviewing their beautiful home, which I could tell they loved.  I asked them what their motivation in selling was.  They responded "Just really looking to make a change and we just aren't sure about … (11 comments)
