mortgage: Black Listed by Mortgage Company
- 03/06/08 09:33 AM
As if Real Estate isn't struggling enough, I read an article today on the WSJ Online that states, banks and mortgage companies have a "Black List" (of course they don't refer to the list as that) circulating internally. The list includes, what they term as slow or soft markets that create a high risk for mortgage providers. The chances of these tagged markets recovering any time soon will lie in the lenders hands. I understand the mortgage companies concerns, but some where the (hate to say it) government is going to have to step in and come to the rescue. Although, if they (6 comments)
Before a buyer makes the decision to go house hunting they should do their "home work" first. Utilizing a Personal Budget Calculator will help determine current expenses. These are the numbers that your mortgage lender will be looking for when you make the initial application for your mortgage. Knowing your current expenses will help streamline the ability to maintain your new mortgage. Becoming married to a home due to previous debt eliminates the fun things in life. Getting your debt in line will eliminate the stress of home ownership. Do your "home work" and reap the benefit in the long run

mortgage: Show me the money!

That I'm not sure of and can be better answered by the Mortgage Professionals on Active Rain. I have been reading blogs and comments where the buyer is responsible for bringing in a six digit down payment on a typical (2 comments)

mortgage: The importance of a personal budget for home buyers
- 10/30/07 03:30 AM
With the ever dwindling savings of the population in this economy, its more important for the home buyer to avoid becoming married to a home. To dodge this fate one should know their personal budget before taking on one of the largest investments in life. Utilizing a budget before making the decision of purchasing can alleviate the stress of financial difficulties down the road. Todays divorce rate is climbing due to couples over extending their finances and not doing their home work in advance. Streamline your finances to allow the time for family, vacations, and allowing the "us" time to keep your marriage strong and happy. (4 comments)
