Approximately 33% of American voters are taking part in the early vote this year. In 2004, 13% less voters participated in early voting. Millions already cast their ballots due to the recent early voting laws passed in 34 states. About 20,000 Ohioans in the major urban areas were expected to show up at the polls and cast their early ballots, the process began September 30. The major urban areas in Ohio include Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Toledo. Ohio, having 20 electoral votes, is a key state which led to President Bush's victory in 2004.

The September Market Report in Ohio for single family, residential homes in Montgomery and Greene counties shows minimal changes. The average sale price / listing price percentage remained at 96%, which is 2% less than the Real Living Realty average. In September 2008 versus September 2007, it now takes 8 days longer to sell homes.
