lancaster real estate: The Ministry Of Motherhood - 02/06/09 09:34 PM
After surviving experiencing motherhood for 25 years, I used to think this state of being a mother would lead me to a state institution... seriously! (only a mother can understand this)

But as we all know, the blessing of children is in fact, the most wonderful gift that God gives to women.  I also believe that motherhood is a ministry -- one in which mothers have a tremendous responsibility and opportunity to shape the lives of their children.  They set the standard of excellence in the home through example (or should), provide unconditional, unfailing love (or should), and shape the world around their children to become wonderful human beings … (25 comments)

lancaster real estate: Simple Needs In Difficult Times - 11/26/08 11:53 PM
With Thanksgiving Day upon us, the holiday season too often becomes a busy and stressful time of year for many.  In this challenging economy I have witnessed my clients lose their home's equity to buyers, suffer repeated price reductions and deal with the hardship of foreclosure and short sales.  But in the midst of their struggles, God faithfully opened doors and hearts for me to minister to others His peace and encouragement to weather the storm and remain steadfast in their real estate goals.  The Secret Place and HOPE Ministry will be entering its seventh year of ministry in 2009 and with this comes an expanded … (4 comments)

lancaster real estate: Five Words That Will Transform Your Neighborhood - 07/17/08 01:50 PM
Love
 - Love for one another isn't simply a choice we make, it's a command.  John 13:34 states, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another" NKJV  Love is a verb, it is selflessness in action.  Our motivation should be simple - love one another because Jesus loved us.
Look at one another through the eyes of God.
Open your heart to receive others - the good, the bad and the ugly; just as Jesus did.
Validate the good qualities within every person you meet.
Extend … (18 comments)

lancaster real estate: What's In Your Love Tank? - 07/15/08 04:16 PM
Today during a walk around my neighborhhod with a friend, we talked about how our personal lives get so busy.  Whether in business or ministry or both, our lives continually feed into the lives of others.  If we aren't careful we can overextend oursleves, even to the point of burnout.
As Believers we are called to walk in God's love.  Let me put it another way.  Love requires selfless giving.  It demands of ourselves, the ability to nurture and nourish the lives of others.  Jesus always walked in love by giving of Himself to people without regard as to whether or not His … (22 comments)

lancaster real estate: Marketing Mania - Who are you trying to represent anyway? - 07/14/08 02:06 PM
Who are you trying to represent anyway?
Men and woman alike whether they admit it or not are marketing themselves every day.  We tend to overlook the fact that in this world marketing plays a huge part in how others perceive our success or worse, a lack of it.  Why is it that we think that products we read about in fliers or hear on the radio are the only things marketed to us?  The truth is that we are our own marketing tool every day in how we dress, speak and what we share with others.  Whether we like it or … (12 comments)

lancaster real estate: Rich Man, Poor Man. - 07/11/08 04:14 AM
James 1:9-11 looks at the perspective of rich and poor.
The Word states, 9 "Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, 10 but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. 11 For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade awayin his pursuits." NKJV
Both poverty and prosperity are concrete examples of trials that test our faith.  Either may result in spiritual disaster.  The Believer who is poor materially … (8 comments)

lancaster real estate: EXTREME LOVE. - 07/09/08 04:33 AM
I get a kick out of the extreme TV programs being aired for example, Extreme Makeover, Deadliest Catch, Man Vs Wild or even Dirty Jobs.  Even though I have a heavy crush on Mike Rowe, why in the world do I need to know about the art of finding slimy eels, how to examine a dirty diaper for bad smells or even WHY I would want to or fishing for crawfish in a swamp?  Extreme?  Indeed.  These shows feed the curious mind, tap into the adventurous side of ones personality and invoke a sense of what we are truly missing as inhabitants of our wonderful earth!.

lancaster real estate: FAST FOOD OR SOUL FOOD. What feeds your needs? - 07/07/08 12:41 PM
A few days ago at my favorite cafe a woman walked in with her friends.  She commented to one of them that she wasn't feeling well.  Her friend offered a soft reply, "Do you want a bagel?"  At first I thought she heard the woman incorrectly.  Instead she was trying to comfort her with food -- a bagel none the less.  Let's see -- that's 8 grams of fat, 76 grams of carbs and 949 mg of sodium for a whopping 420 calories of fun stuff!  Way to get a bagel belly! ... and what a substitute for a tired body and a weary … (2 comments)

lancaster real estate: For the Love of God, Part 2 -- I never found the right guy, and you never found the wrong donut! - 07/04/08 09:26 AM
Today as I was type, type, typing away, I heard an episode of Rosanne on the TV in the background.  I do not watch television often but as the station was about to change I caught the end of an episode that made me think.

She and her sister (I forget her name right now) were talking about their dysfunctional life.  Rosanne said, "that's probably why you were never married and why I'm so fat!"  Her sister in reply said, "No, it's because I never found the right guy and you never found the wrong donut!"

 I can relate … (12 comments)

lancaster real estate: The Power Of Prayer - 07/03/08 02:08 PM
To briefly share a testimony, many of you are aware of the last few days of events involving my parents health. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease two weeks ago and last week she fell and broke her arm.  My dad discovered a day after mom's diagnosis that his heart is operating at 50% capacity.  Monday morning I learned that he drove himself to an area hospital at 1:00 in the morning, alone.  He presented with chest pains and palpitations at an area hospital.  After an evaluation, ECHO cardiogram and so forth, the diagnosis was a possible heart attack.  Having … (10 comments)

lancaster real estate: Tonight's no title blog. :) - 06/30/08 02:48 PM
Within the past 5 days I had in front of me a choice to make -- one which seemed right, looked right and in other people's opinion, it was right.  Having walked with Jesus since April 1982, I have learned through trial after trial that without the peace of God, I'm headed for a fall or at the very least, a bumpy ride in whatever decision I have to make.
Tonight I began to feel weary from these past emotional and exhausting days which shredded my peace and created such turmoil within my spirit and soul that I couldn't sleep, think or concentrate.  After coming … (6 comments)

lancaster real estate: Feel The Power! - 06/28/08 01:09 PM
Living in Lancaster County, PA. gives me opportunity to see and witness the Amish people and their lifestyle.  Oftentimes I pass by large open farmland and watch in amazement how farming is done by horse drawn equipment and metal wheels.  Many times the power of these huge beasts is placed in the hands of a child, sometimes as young as 12 or 13.  Watching such a task amazes me.  These horses esteem power and strength well beyond the ability of the young child to control.  With a sure grip on the reins he guides the beasts and accomplishes the task at … (10 comments)

lancaster real estate: Want a piece of Me? - 06/27/08 04:20 PM
I love it when I hear proverbial words regarding the peace of God.  How many times in scripture does He mention His peace?  Actually, 429 times in the King James version - with the first occurrance in Genesis 15:15, "Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age."NKJV
Not only does God want you to have a real piece of Him [His love, His Presence, His Spirit], He also desires to freely and abundantly give you His precious peace.  For myself, I have one and only one way of physically verifying … (12 comments)

lancaster real estate: Please allow me to share. - 06/22/08 11:55 AM
Today was an exciting and a receiving day for me. Please allow me share.
During my Open House I began reading a book called, "Humility" by Andrew Murray.  I couldn't put it down even trying to hold it under my arm while chatting with buyers.  This book speaks of the humility of Jesus from His incarnation and life on earth to His atonement, ascension and exaltation to the Throne Room of God and explains that humility is the secret of redemption.  I recommend it for anyone.
But before my day started I listened to a CD that I hadn't heard for … (16 comments)

lancaster real estate: What's Oil Going For Now? - 06/22/08 01:05 AM
... certainly made me think of Matthew 25:1-13 - and the parable of the wise and foolish virgins.

In v2 it talks about the virgins themselves - 5 wise and 5 foolish. Growing up I thought all virgins were well, smart if not wise.  More on that later.  Anyway, v3 tells us that the foolish virgins actually took no oil with them.  Not quite a good thing.  In v4 it speaks of the wise ladies who took oil in their vessels then in v5 when the bridegroom was delayed they all fell asleep!  Now, I've never fallen asleep waiting … (8 comments)

lancaster real estate: Living in His spotlight. - 06/20/08 12:27 PM

Every time of think of Hollywood I consider the many people living in the spotlight of others.  For every Hollywood star there are many who keep the ball rolling in their lives. Let's take a look at their possible entourage.  There are spouses or a ‘significant other', an agent, personal assistant, hairdresser, wardrobe designer, nail tech of course, masseuse and perhaps even a cook...to name just a few.
These people all live in the spotlight of the one who takes or demands the attention.  They work to support his or her efforts on the big screen.  And that is how … (8 comments)
