blogging: The Blogconomy - How Much Can You Earn Blogging - 11/05/13 12:36 AM
I remember my very first blog post here on ActiveRain.  It was way back in February of 2007, more than 5 years ago. At the time, I wasn't even considering that money could be made from blogging.  I was in it to connect with other local and national real estate pros, to learn and grow as well as share my own knowledge and experiences, and market my company and expertise to those that had a use or that saw value in what I offerred.
There are some bloggers out there only in it for the money and believe me, they are … (18 comments)

blogging: SEO and Blogging - The Importance of Visibility and Placement - 02/07/11 01:55 AM
SEO and Blogging - The beauty is in the "Eyes" of the beholder
Last week we did a class called "Are You Invisible" and had a great turnout with guest speaker Gary Clayberg from WA.  One of the topics during the SEO and Blogging discussion was about heat maps that show and reveal how the "eyes" of your traffic and visitors see your site and the search engine results. It's absolutely fascinating when you think about it, and it most definitely should be thought about after you read this.
Think of how long you spend reading a blog post vs skimming, … (66 comments)

blogging: Blogging and Time Management - 12/07/09 06:11 PM
One of the common concerns I hear from people about Blogging, is that they just don't have the time.  Seriously though, we live in a world where Starbucks offers drive-thru coffee for those who don't even have time to sit and enjoy it.  Everything in life seems to be go-go-go!  So maybe Blogging and Time Management really is a valid concern and important topic for many!?!  I just Googled Blogging and Time Management, there really wasn't much out there.  So maybe there is no answer?  If you did find the answer, would it be right for you?

How to Create a Blog Post for Customers and Search Engines.
There are three important audiences to be writing for: 1. Other members and friends of your Social Networks. 2. Consumers, Subscribers, and a Target Audience of readers.  3. Search Engines.  I'm sure this is preaching to the choir, but this is important information to be shared if you want to get maximum exposure and results from your Blog posts with consumers, visitors, and with Google. Google Juice? I'll drink to that! :-)
Blogging for Customers and Search Engines correctly is a key component to a successful Blog.

blogging: 3 Ways To Reach Your Audience - Blogging Just Isn't Enough - 09/17/08 03:42 PM
In the beginning, well...many years ago, the only way people could communicate and share information with others, was by traveling on horseback or by boat to personally deliver their news.  Then came mail.  In regards to advertising, marketing, and providing news and information, this must have been a nightmare.  Word of mouth was pretty much it!
Once newspapers were created and evolved, they quickly became the "Resource" to get information, and find out what was going on in local areas and around the world.  Then came radio, followed by television.  Now the Globe became smaller, and the World felt more connected.  … (106 comments)

Today, I spoke on the phone with Margaret Rome from Baltimore. She shared with me that she was doing a presentation tomorrow for the WCR called "What's A Blog Anyway?" I decided to try something that has not been done yet here on our Active Rain Blogs.
Margaret sent me a copy of her PowerPoint Presentation, I told her I would try to upload it to Google or YouTube as a video. Then we could post it in a Blog on Active Rain. Well I found out tonight that it's just not possible. Let me backup just a bit. Margaret actually … (151 comments)

blogging: Your Blog - Is it Unwritten? - 02/17/08 05:53 AM
I have heard in my online travels that writers, authors and even Bloggers can get writers block. I have also noticed that thousands of Bloggers have joined us here in the "Rain" and have not written their first post. Can I ask why you joined? Was it to try and gain knowledge about the industry? Was it because of a compulsive (must join) behavior you might have? Maybe you are just afraid of what people will think when you write, so you're holding back and keeping your Blog Unwritten.
Here's a video that addresses those writers and bloggers who either have … (75 comments)

Before you post on your Blog, here's five principles that may help you get more views, readers and comments, and (no promises), featured on Active Rain!
First off, put some thought and effort into your posts.  There are so many things you can write about IE: your business, events, personal experiences, travel, technology, other members, the Market etc.
If you invest a small amount of time "thinking" about your post and your readers, their perceptions and what you are trying to get across, the better your posts will be.
Don't knock yourself out, and remember, you'll never know what kind of response … (218 comments)
