I have been in real estate firm for over 50 years. What makes my situation unique is my dedication to helping people who normally don't consider themselves to be a good candidate for buying a home. Thus, in my town I have been involved in home ownership seminars and have been an active voice in the community of which I have raised my children. My major concerns are: 1) the number of minorities who don't own homes or property 2) the reputation of real estate in some venues gaining a reputation as low as that of car salespeople 3) the number of boarded up homes in low income areas and the blight, poverty and hopelessness surrounded by religious institutions which are prospering in those same communities. 4) how lower economic neighborhoods can revitalize themselves especially when there is a lack of job opportunities and 5) how we can encourage entrepreneurship in those same communities. I have tried to do my part by hiring, sponsoring and training potential sales people who may not have found sustaining jobs in their communities.
I belong to the Michigan Association of Realtors. I am a self learned real estate agent who with class training from University of Michigan real estate program.
I love going to conferences to learn more about promoting my business and I'm particularly intrigued by the internet and the potential to gain a credible voice online and hope that influences people to contact me about business.
