After graduating in 1995 from East Carolina University with a BS in Communications, Van became a full time resident of Wilmington, NC working in the Film and Television Industry.  After several years of traveling working on various productions Van found a new love in Real Estate and soon changed careers.  Selling Real Estate along with investing and renovating properties with his wife Shannon only fueled the fire to become more involved within the industry.  This interest in people and real estate was accompanied by his 7 years within the Film and Television Industry which took Van and Shannon to Los Angeles, CA for 3 of those 7 years.  In his spare time, aside from enjoying precious time with their daughter Lilly, Van has donated much of his extra time and resources to the Life Roll's On Foundation (a Christopher Reeves affiliate for spinal cord injury research) which he became involved with after shattering his C-7 vertebra in a surfing accident.
