Why the name change?

I know that many will want to know why I would change my name after having built on the VAASST name for so long...simply put, the new name represents the attitude better than the old. The previous name was just an abbreviation and the name "VICTORY" means something to me-personally, professionally, and spiritually-Victorious.

Personal Tidbit

I have been married to the absolute love of my life- the man that God made for me- for the past nine+ years. We were married on May 23rd, 1998, and are close to celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Whoo-Hoo! Robert has two beautiful children Shania and Ty. Following a bout with cancer in 2001, I am consequently unable to carry a child so we have no other children to date (please note that I serve a God who is awesome and mighty and he has revealed to me that I will have at least 2 ;-)Technology is making vast strides- who knows what they'll come up with in the next few years. I am just so grateful to be alive, and so blessed as to have both my parents yet living, all of my siblings, and nieces and nephews. Everyone does not know the joy of loving the person that God made for you to love-it's a beautiful thing. I love my work and the freedom of working for myself. That is very important to me, being able to set my own schedule and have the time and freedom to do things unrelated to earning income. 

Robert and I made a decision in 2000 that it was time to start furthering our education so that we don't have to struggle all of our lives. We agreed that I would go first, and I have since graduated with an AA, then a BS, and now a MS. I have taken some time off; at least a year before I go on to work on the Ph.D. It is now Robert's turn to start and he will begin in the fall working on an AS. My family is so very supportive. When I was working on my BS, I commuted two years from Beaufort to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston (CofC; yeah Cougars!). The sacrifices made by my family were unbelievable; yet, it was something that we had to do. I am the third of my grandfather's 35 grandchildren to earn a four year degree and the first of two to earn a masters degree. We have to press the mark for our children. Education is certainly not everything; we want to rear well-rounded, spiritual little people who understand that with Christ all things are possible and the sky alone is the limit of what they can achieve in this life.
