Tom Byrne served as president of Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors' Commercial Division from 1998 through April 1, 2004, and is a native of Miami, Florida.  Tom joined EWM in 1998 as a shareholder with the merger of his 25-year-old real estate firm, Byrne-Rinehart & Co.   Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors was sold in the summer of '03 to Home Services of America, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway - a Warren Buffet holding company.

Professionally, Tom is a licensed Florida attorney, with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami; has a Masters in Finance from Florida International University and a degree in Economics and Real Estate from Florida State University.

Tom serves or has served as the Chairman, Director or a member of the Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches, Florida Association of Realtors, the National Associations of Realtors, the Board Leadership Forum, the Legislative Committee, the Commercial & Investment Committee, the Federal Housing Committee, Realtor/Attorney Committee, Membership Issues Work Group, the Commercial Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches, is a candidate for Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), is a member of the Real Property Section of the Florida Bar and past member of the advisory board for the Master Broker's Forum.

Locally, Tom is the immediate past president of the Industrial Association of Dade County; is a past Director for Habitat for Humanity, is the immediate President of Habitat for Humanity's ReStore operations in Miami- Dade County, a director of the Jerome Baine Educational Foundation, an occasional basketball coach, and is an adjunct professor at Florida International University teaching real estate law to undergraduates each spring. Additionally, Tom is the President of the 1000 member Commercial Alliance of Greater Miami and the Beaches for 2008.

Esslinger Wooten Maxwell's Commercial Division has established itself as a competent force in the commercial brokerage community with sales increasing from $25 Million to over $400 Million over the last six years.
