Not only do I live in Naples as a full time resident but I absolutely love it! It is such a fantastic place to live and work that I have to share a little bit about the area. First and foremost you should know I work for John R. Wood Realtors on Fifth Avenue here in Naples. John R. Presently we lead the Naples Area in closed sales for 2008. We are getting it done!

Naples is located in Southwest Florida along the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. We are about 45 minutes ( depending on the traffic) from Southwest Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers. Naples is located in Collier County and we have a population of about 20,000 people. Naples is about 3 hours from Orlando and about 100 miles from Ft. Lauderdale.
Often referred to as a " tropical paradise", Naples average temperature is about 77 degrees. Our Gulf waters average 80 degrees from June to September and mid 60's is average for January through March. We have higher humidity and more rain during the summer months but you can almost always find a balmy breeze!

Because of it's tropical climate Naples has become famous for it's golf. We have plenty of pro's and you can see some of them in the Champions Tour Ace Classic or at The Shark Shootout hosted by Greg Norman. There are many great golf communities with all types of golf priviledges. Some opt for equity ownership in a private club others prefer a home with monthly fees and bundled golf; allowing them to play frequently. Either way we have plenty of golf here if that is your passion!

Another popular attraction is the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you like sunsets, walking on the beach, swimming, fishing, boating, water views, or just putting your toes in the soft white sand Naples is the place The beach is probably one of the largest attractions and we have many options for you. Some of our larger more popular beaches include Vanderbilt Beach and Lowdermilk Park. There are many beach options at the end of each avenue in Olde Naples. Residents get a beach sticker that allows them to use any beach in Naples, the City of Naples and Marco. Visitors can obtain a visitor pass or bring your quarters and use the meters.

I always enjoy the beach! Here is a photo of my Mom and I doing some beach time.

Another popular past time in Naples is shopping. There are several hot spots for shopping in Naples. Perhaps one of the most famous is Fifth Avenue South in Olde Naples. This is considered downtown Naples and is host to many of Naples most popular restaurants, boutiques, gift stores, shoe stores, jewelry stores, and art galleries. There is a strong presence from both the financial and real estate industries on Fifth as well. Of course I have to point out that my office is located on Fifth.... Fifth Avenue also hosts numerous activities one being the Evening on Fifth with extended store hours, live local entertainment, great people and delicious food and drink from area establishments. There is always something to do on Fifth Avenue!
