Description:I took my 17 years of experience as an exclusive buyer agent and opened my own EBA office April 1, 2008. No fooling! NAEBA and MABA members, do you have any advice? Any referrals?

Who is Rona Fischman?

I am one of the first buyer agents in Massachusetts. I'm the real thing when it comes to buyer agency. All buyer, all the time. Negotiation is what I live for! I believe that buyers need professional guidance when making the biggest purchase of their lives. I also believe that I can do that more effectively because I work in an office that does not represent sellers.

I joined the Massachusetts Association of Buyer's Agents within six months of getting my license (1991) and joined the National Association of Exclusive Buyer's Agents on the day it was founded (1995).

I save people money, whenever I can. But I see my job as also helping people separate the hype from the realities so that they can make their best decisions. I work toward stress-reduction with planning, information, and compassionate counseling.

Before becoming a buyer's agent, I worked in human services as a teacher, a counselor, and a clinical coordinator. During that time I learned a great deal about adaptive housing, which remains a special interest of mine.

Where does she do her thing?

Here are the towns that are the outermost in my area: Winchester, Medford, Lexington, Bedford, Concord, Acton, Sudbury, Wayland, Needham, Newton, Cambridge. I work in those and everything within that circle. So, if someone wants Lexington, but may also look in Bedford, that's fine.  But if someone wants Bedford, but also may look in Maynard, I am not the right agent.

Areas that I gave up include Melrose, Burlington, Wakefield.

I know agents beyond (and within) my region that give undivided service in a model similar to mine. We are very friendly competitors, so I am happy to refer.

From June 2007 to February 2008, I was blogging at Boston.com.  You have to search the archives to find me, since they have one person (a staffer) running it now. Here's one page, to get you there...The editor wants me back, but for now, I have set up blogging here

Testimonials

Look at Linked-In for some written testimonials. On request, I ask former buyers to email to you, if you really want to talk behind my back.
