we have the occassional tornado where I live, but none of the others really. I've had personal damage to my home from a tornado just once, to my property one other time, but in general it's a great place to live in central GA

I'll take Blizzard prone, less destruction and in a few days you can get back to life. I like summer storms, but I am guessing much like everyone else I'd like to avoid the destructive storms you mention.

People say I live in a tornado zone in Middle TN but in all my years I haven't seen one but have seen the damage. Once it is through the weather is nice. So I am not afraid to live in tornado territory.

Like none of these, Winston. This is like asking which form of execution I would prefer! (One reason we moved to Charlotte is that our exposure to all of these if fairly non-existant.)

Good morning Winston. In the Northeast we are more prone to snow storms or a blizzard from time to time.

Winston - We have haboobs in Arizona, and those are bad enough. I don't want to have to deal with anything else, such as a hurricane or earthquake.

I'm in EQ zone and we do not pay attentions to many small ones, but of course, the large one would be absolutely terrible for everyone, including real estate.
Honestly, I do not wish any on your list above.

I would take a blizzard any day, in fact we do get a few in Denver. Stock up on the food, turn on the fireplace and get a good book. Buyers and seller usually don't want to see you!

I rode out a hurricane on my sailboat and with every natural disaster, if enough time for preparation it all works out. Tornados? No thanks; too short of prep time.

Blizzard hands down. Plenty of warning, easy to stock up, I have a wood stove and gas range. All is good. However, western NC isn't prone to any of those things.

Tornados have a narrower path of destruction. I'd go with that over hurricane or flooding anytime.

I agree with Nina Hollander . And, if you did ask what form of execution I'd prefer... I'd go with legal injection.

Winston Heverly I don't think any place is safe anymore. We see weather conditions we've never seen before. If I had a choice, it would probably earthquakes since they are far and few in between at least in my area.

I'll take an earthquake any day over any of the others. Call me crazy but I live in CA and when an earthquake happens it comes, BANG, its over. In a tornado prone area - you just have to wait and wait and wait for that ominous weather pattern and you have that gut wrenching feeling that its COMING!! I've lived where it snowed, and once it is there all you can do is stay inside or shovel snow. Flooding - well - too much cleanup!!

Same here in Gulf Breeze/Pensacola. Turned into a FABULOUS weekend. I have only lived in New Orleans (whole life) and now Gulf Breeze which both have seen their fair share of Hurricanes. We lost our home and jobs from Katrina. We were warned and we listened and we left New Orleans. Weather reports are given very often so there is plenty of time to head out of the path of the storm. You learn to stay prepared with essentials such as water, canned good, batteries, working generators, etc. The South with Hurricane threats are my vote!

In CT we generally only get the occaional snow storms, but [near] hurricane Sandy got us, even thpough we are fairly inland; no power for 8 days.

Hmmmmm . . . I don't like the unexpected. So with blizzards and hurricanes one can prepare, at least. Get out of harm's way, or prepare to hunker down.

I'll take flooding. Find some high ground, bring in provisions and a lot of firewood, a generator in case the lights go out, and a bunch of books, and I'm good to go. I love to walk around in a good storm. The other stuff? You have no control how bad it can get and your house can tumble down or fly away--in pieces.

I live in a hurricane and flood area. The good thing about hurricanes is that you can prepare with several days of warning. Can't do that with earthquakes or tornados.

I would have to say blizzard. The blizzard generally does not require long lasting clean up efforts and likely you can keep your power on.
