Working with Peggy means working with a broker who has 33 years of experience, owns Coldwell Banker Carlson Real Estate, is a Stowe, VT resident and has spent most of her life in Vermont. Her love affair with Vermont began at Camp Songadeewin, a Keewaydin camp on Lake Willoughby. Growing up in Gettysburg, Pa, she graduated from St. Margaret's School (now Chase Collegiate School) in Waterbury, Conn. and from Wheelock College in Boston, Mass. From there she spent 8 years teaching elementary school and high school art. She moved to Stowe, Vermont in 1973, went into real estate, raised two children, bringing them up in the Stowe school system. She now lives on Taber Hill with her husband, Shap, owner of Patterson Smith Construction, and enjoys an extended family of three more sons, two daughter in-laws, and four grandchildren. Peggy is an active volunteer. She was on the VT Board of the Nature Conservancy for ten years, chairman for one year, a past member of the Stowe Conservation Commission, a board member of the Stowe Land Trust and a board member of a community based art program (GRACE) in Hardwick, VT.
The challenge of Stowe real estate market is what drives her. "Everyday brings a new challenge. How to market property, how to sell it, how to meet the needs of customers and clients. Everyday is an education. Especially here in Stowe VT real estate is never the same, laws change, trends change, markets change. Luckily I am a person who likes change and am creative. I am always working outside the box, looking at all aspects to a property. No wonder I hated coloring books, I could never stay within the lines. So call me, you will enjoy the experience and I promise to stay within the lines when I am driving you around."
