Often a staged home will get into a bidding war of multiple offers.  Staging a house is merchandising.  We want your house to appeal to as many different potential buyers as possible.  We want them to drive up the driveway, and say "OH MY I love it!"  And once they walk in the front door, we want them to feel they have come home.  This is what staging will do for your house.  Appealing to people of all walks of life, and creating the desire in each one of them, that they MUST have your house!

My very first staging job, before I even knew that is what it was called.   It was a very simple 1200 sq ft 3 bdrm, 1 bath rancher.  Nothing special.  I staged it to look like a magazine cover, every room. 

 In their first Open House, just from the pictures on the MLS listing, they had a LINE-UP at the front door of potential buyers!!  (The realtor of 20 yrs experience had never seen such excitement!!)

In that 2 hour Open House, they had 8 offers, and the highest bid was for $22,000 over their asking price, with NO CONDITIONS!

WOW!  We were all stunned!  And this was in a low market, before the craziness started in 2003 in the Greater Vancouver Area.  The asking price was $264,000, and they closed for $286,000.  So, $22,000 over is quite spectacular I think! 

The multiple offers came from all kinds of people, retired couples, baby boomers, young families, couples buying their first home.  This is another amazing thing staging your house will do for you.  Appeal to EVERYONE. 

The comments people made to their realtors about what made them fall in love with the house, had nothing to do with the house.  It was all about the staging!

Needless to say, I had a knack for this.  And we actually made headlines with that sale as being the highest selling price for a 3 bdrm rancher in that city!  We broke a record!

That was such an honor to be a part of such an exciting sale for my first job at staging.
