About Me:

Career
After two years of multi-million dollar production in Lockport I relocated to my hometown of Coal City for two more like-years. I have recently relocated to Diamond to work with Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby and COULD NOT be more thrilled to be part of Grundy County's #1 office! I specialize in representing my clients in the purchases and sales of residences and income property within (but not limited to) Coal City, Diamond, Mazon, Carbon Hill, Wilmington, Braidwood, Morris, Channahon, Minooka, Shorewood and Lockport. I keep up to date on real estate transactions and goings on in these areas.

Personal
I am a Coal City resident of five years and plan to be here for good. My youth was spent in Lockport and filled with extra-curricular activities and organizations centered around school, music and athletics. I graduated from University of Saint Francis in Joliet with a degree in Elementary Education in 2002. When not selling homes I love spending time with my wife and sons, teaching math after school to under-privileged students in Joliet, coaching youth soccer, podcasting  and blogging away

Areas of Expertise

Providing a superior level of informed, professional real estate services to buyers and sellers in the greater Will-Grundy County area. I've found quite the niche in representing 1st time home-buyers; something about the teacher in me mixed with the fact that I'm only a few years removed from being a first time buyer myself, I guess!

Testimonials

Jim's high degree of professionalism, teamed with his friendly manner, put us at ease as we sold our home. We could always trust him, and rely on his knowledge to guide us through the process. We really felt like Jim wants the best for our family, and will always help to make that a reality!

The Kostbade Family, Coal City, Illinois

Jim was most helpful and professional in our relationship with him. He was optimistic about our prospects for a rapid sale, although we originally did not share his optimism. We took his advice regarding asking price (even though it seemed higher than we had expected) and his suggestion to list the house "as is" (which assuredly helped us sell in such a timely manner).

Jim enthusiastically showed our house. He familiarized himself with the listing so he was in a position to emphasize the most positive aspects of the property and those that would be the most desirable for prospective buyers. We felt at all times that Jim was concerned with what was best for us and our house and its future owner.

In addition, Jim went above and beyond his role as real estate agent in our behalf. For example, he secured a cleaning lady for us to ensure the house would show in the best possible light and he even helped us move heavy items from the property when it became necessary to do so.

Finally, Jim made himself available to us throughout the sales process. Since we live outside the Coal City area, it was important that Jim be available as quickly as possible. He was always a cell phone call or e-mail away whenever we had questions or concerns.

The decision to sell the Coal City house was a very emotional and difficult one. It has been in our family for well over 100 years and was filled with four generations of family memories. The entire selling process would have been more difficult had we not felt that Jim understood how important the property was to us. Our house sold in less than two weeks and closed in just a little over a month from the date of the listing agreement.
