Jolie Abreu’s extensive and eclectic career began with her multi-faceted upbringing. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to American parents and lived in several cities including Montreal, Chicago, and Philadelphia before her parents settled in Florida. Growing up in Southeastern Florida, Jolie has experienced all of the multi-cultural events the area has to offer.
Prior to moving to the Treasure Coast, Jolie spent 12 years in Orlando, the first part of which she attended the University of Central Florida studying Political Science. Here she began her professional career in non-profit work with the HIV-AIDS Institute of Orlando as the Program Coordinator. Through this outreach program she helped to bring HIV-AIDS awareness to the Greater Central Florida Region through education programs in schools and community centers. From here she worked with the Dick Batchelor Management Group to develop and implement fundraising events for non-profit groups. One of the most successful was the “Change for Kids” campaign which achieved the seeming impossible — a landslide passage of a half-cent sales tax to support school construction and renovation.
She has been a 6 year member the Board of Directors of the Florida High Schools Model United Nations (www.fhsmun.org) having worked with the organization since 1993. FHSMUN is a non-partisan, non-profit, educational organization. Its purpose is to promote awareness and understanding of global issues in the context of the United Nations with a special emphasis placed on promoting the ideas expressed in the Preamble to the Charter of the United Nations.
Having a strong background in Marketing and Public Relations, Jolie has spent the better part of her life involved in luxury real estate transactions and sales as her mother is a successful real estate agent in Boca Raton. She takes personal ownership of her clients needs and strives to make their real estate dreams a reality.
Shortly after moving to the Treasure Coast, Jolie began working with Lisa Geng. She and Lisa soon developed the Helping Homes® Network (www.helpinghomes.net) to bring their work in non-profit together with their successful careers in real estate. Helping Homes® was developed with a plan to “Improve the Neighborhood” by helping to bring a percentage of that money to the charitable organization of your choice! Helping Homes® donates a percentage of the Realtor’s® net commission to the charitable organization in the buyer or seller’s name.
Jolie currently lives in Port St Lucie with her husband Brian, their dog Maya and two cats, Smokey and the Bandit.
