Iowa Hunting Land
A little bit about me in no particular order! Real
Estate and auctioneering were not my first career. Before becoming a real estate agent and auctioneer in Iowa I worked in the wildlife conservation field and was a police officer. My experience and education prior to becoming an agent have laid the groundwork for where I am going and the service I want to provide. In college I studied Fish and Wildlife Biology and Land Management. Later I went back to college and studied Business Management at Bellevue University. I am also a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (133rd Basic) and the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa. Today as a business owner I serve the real estate needs of the rural community and help those that want to live the country dream by making it a reality.
I have the great fortune of working for Whitetail Trophy Properties brokerage based in Pike County Illinois. The area I work in is in western Iowa known as the Loess Hills region.
Our brokerage serves Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. The area I serve is in western Iowa and the Loess Hills geographic land form where I live. Whitetail Trophy Properties has the top of the industry marketing program. You've probably seen our recreational properties TV program on the M.A.N. Farms, Farm Land, Hunting Land.... if its rural, I sell it!
My wife Nicole and I live on an 260 acre farm in the Loess Hills of Western Iowa with our two Labradors Madison (Black) and Emma (Chocolate).
The farm includes row crops and a mix of pasture, timber, ponds and food plots. We take pride in managing the habitat on our farm for whitetail deer which benefits all species of wildlife. Actually living on a farm has taught me many lessons about rural living. If you want to make the move choose an agent that understands rural living.
Living in the country gives us many opportunities for outdoor activities so you can imagine I'm very much an outdoorman. I enjoy just about anything you can do outdoors.
Some of my favorite hobbies whitetail deer hunting, cooking, carpentry, photography and technology. In my free time I also love working around the farm whether its working on our food plots, ponds, fixing fences, cutting firewood, or keeping the pastures weed free. I also enjoy restoring small areas back to native prairie grasses where I can.
My favorite hobby is easily deer hunting in Iowa. I hunt the archery and muzzleloader seasons, and as with all serious deer hunters the hobby is a year round hobby and not just a few months out of the year. In the off season I spend a lot of time photographing deer and learning more about them. The photo you see is of a deer I was able to photograph this year in a bean field. Iowa is well known for it trophy whitetail and it is one of the biggest tourism draws in the area I live. The Loess Hills State Forest in Monona, Harrison, and Pottawattamie Counties is over 12,000 acres. I'm lucky enough to live across the road from one of the largest pieces of the Loess Hills State Forest!
West Central Iowa is home to Monona County and Harrison County Iowa. If you are looking for Iowa hunting land that will rival Pike County Illinois in deer numbers and trophy class then look west because we have it. While Pike County ranks #3 in all time B&C entries Monona County Iowa ties Adams County Illinois for 4th place. There are only two Iowa counties in the top 10 all time B&C entries and Monona County is one of them.
