My husband and I spent many years looking for what would be called our "retirement" home after our careers in the big city were done.  After many years of looking, we found Lake Carroll.  Everything came together at Lake Carroll; 2 hours from Chicagoland (we have 3 children and they were all starting families so I wasn't moving very far), beautiful lake and golf community, privately owned, well maintained and much more.  So, we bought a lot.  Then a boat.  In a couple of years we built our dream home on the lake and left the city.  We have adjusted to our new life style and we really do love it.  During the construction phase, we were offered jobs by the Real Estate office that had sold us our lot.  So, now we have started second careers as Realtors.  Selling property at Lake Carroll is fun!  Our clients are looking for recreational or retirement property.  We take clients out to show them the community, but the community sells itself.  Sometimes we end up having to take them out for a pontoon boat ride..hard work, but someone has to do it.  Someday, in the future, we will retire, but for now we enjoy our new home and new careers!
