Get an experienced agent on your side.  In most cases, the buyer's agent commission in NC is paid by the seller. 

ABR - Accredited Buyer Representative!  YES!  There are agents who do specialize (and enjoy) working with buyers and I am one!   I do feel this is a direct result of having survived (that is the appropriate word) 9 corporate relocation adventure as my husband's career took our family from coast to coast.  We noticed that some of these moves went smoother than others, and we could trace that to agents who were truly interested in our needs.  I've taken that experience and applied it to my own real estate business.  10 years later I still enjoy helping individuals and families "solve their real estate puzzle."
