This just happened to me last month. My partner is from Canada and his mom lives in Century Village. She has many friends and family who also come from The Great White North. She spends her winter months living in the Deerfield Beach area. We have been able to get 5 or 6 referrals from his mom. Two of them were seasonal rentals and the other 3 were quick sales. We close on 2 of them at the end of March and one at the end of April. The first 2 closed in less than 30 days and had no hold ups. The 3rd was even better...we executed a contract and the transaction closed in 2 weeks! How is that for a fast deal with no problems in this market. The funny thing is he spent more time showing them property than it took to close. We have another few we are working on as well and the 2 rentals are due to close in the fall.

By the way...did I tell you that all the other deals we closed did not require financing and were all cash? I will take those types of deals any day of the week.

Congratulations!  It's great when they go that way, isn't it? I do wish they all would.

Jeff,

I had a nice one in September where we had both ends of the deal..all cash and closed in 30 days,

I could use that one again right now.

Congratulations.  It is nice when transactions goes smoothly and quickly, isn't it?

Not to be critical... but since this is a public forum, I think we need to be careful about posting about the quick bucks you made on some "deals".  This is what gives people the impression we are over paid and underworked.  I think we need to focus on the value of working with an agent, even in a transaction like this.  Surely you offered some value, other than earning the "easy money".   Most transactions take a lot of work and expertise and this is an excellent forum to relate those experiences.

One other thing, one my my pet peeves is referring to a transaction as a "deal".  These are very personal and important events in people's lives.  To me, we sound like used car sales people when we use the term "deal".

Just some rambling thoughts.

Carol,

It was public yes ..but I can tell you that if my partners mom referred them it was because they know that are value as a realto is impeccable..i was only stating about the bucks as a job well done and we did not have to wait as long as some of these other deals and if we are valued then why should'nt we get paid?

We are entitled to make our livings just as people in other industries are.

Beleive me I could have mentioned price and compensation but I did not and as for making too much money...they were not very large deals...it was the fact that they closed and ontime.

No insult here.

Neal,
I certainly was not insinuating you shouldn't make money, even on an easy transaction. I love those too!  I merely suggested, if you're going to post to the public side of this forum, we use the posts to educate the public on what value we bring to the table in EVERY transaction.   You also have the option of a "Members Only" post.

You can say the referrals came because they knew the value, but what was it?  According to surveys, real estate agents are right in there with politicans on the credibility meter.  We have an excellent forum here to change that perspective.

I'm sure you're an excellent agent, and earn every penny.  But, tell me and the rest of the world WHY you're so valuable.

Carol,

You are not insulting me..as far as why I am so valuable...check out these 2 posts you might have missed ARE YOU THE BEST ?...... WHAT SEPARATES "YOU" FROM THE REST?  and DO YOU KEEP THE PUBLIC INFORMED?

Let me know if you think that might have explained it.

But I do not think there was anything wrong posting it public it was just a nice way to show consumers that some deals do not have a stressful process to close on real estate.

I am too tired to write it all again...LOL!

Neal,  First of all I was NEVER meaning to insult you.  Why would I do that?  Second of all, we accomplished exactly what I wanted.  You posted the links to two very informative and valuable blog posts.  Good Job!
