Your Bid is accepted and you eloquently thank your clients and proceed to your car... (Whooopeee!  Horn tooting down the street, Yahoo!)  Upon thinking about how you will Stage this house, what room or area is your favorite?  In other words, where is your forte?  I love bathrooms.... I love to mix it up and add some drama. My disorder is ever present :)  Not that I dislike the other rooms, but often times I feel that this room is overlooked when it comes to Staging.  We spend so much time in this area... why not make it spa-like or even fun?

What is your room forte?  What Staging Disorder do you have?

I love to do kitchens.  Fun cook books, one on a stand opened to a recipe with a colorful photo.  Add a couple of unusual utensils, a colaner,  I also like to use clear square jars full of layered dried beans, colorful curly macaroni, cheetos and spaghetti.  It's fun and looks like a gourmet lives there.  They can see themselves cooking or entertaining there.

Marlene, kitchens are fun too.  Do you have any pics?  I would love to see them.

I am by no means a stager.  But something about a nice table, well laid out with the appropriate accessories can really, really sell a nook or a dining room!

I love bedrooms.  Did you know about my obsession with headboard alternatives?

After that, I love those odd spaces that don't seem to have a true purpose - I like to give them one.

I am a living room guy for sure. Setting the scene for conversation and socializing is my fav.

Well, I once was a kitchen girl and now I love doing dining rooms.

My partner, Tanya..loves a kitchen.  I like the bedroom and bathroom!  Together, we usually do the family room!

Kitchens are my fave, adding a touch of greenery in those boring corners and spicing it up with red accents in dinnerware really help kitchens come alive.

Wow, this is very interesting :)

Kaushik... You are so right, I think that table set-up is a must have for a nook area.  Thank you for your reply.

Kimberly... Yes, I saw one of your posts with a flower headboard.. great idea!

Jackson... I am honored that you responded. Thank you for your input.  Your living rooms are gorgeous!

Kathy... Oh, you changed your obsession :) to OCDRD.

Marci... I bet you both do a great family room.

Leticia... love the red accent idea.

Torn between kitchens and the living room  - just went and bought some more coffee table books & if I can bring myself to do it - I intend to cut out pages to frame - cheap & nice.  But can I actually cut up my pretty book - I'll have to go in my bathroom & think about it!

Mine is bedrooms,  I actually rarely, if ever make my own bed.  I know how bad is that ?   But making beds for a staging, I just love.  Ironed sheets and all.  I also have a new obssesion with laundry rooms.  I live in an area, where people bulid house with laundry rooms nicer and larger than most peoples kitchens!   So nice laundry rooms are important out here!

Too many desperate housewives in the burbs. LOL

I love table settings.  It's a great opportunity to bring in color and visual interest.  Sellers also often appreciate the special touches.

Kathleen... Well did ya think about it? ... and the desision is.... drum roll........ (or are you still stuck in the bathroom?)

Joelle... that pulls on the ole Staging strings too, I love kids bedrooms... they can be way too much fun!

Ann... that might be my second too Ann.  I get my settings from model home sales which are all put together and glued down.  Love 'em.

My favourite is bathrooms.  I love creating a spa oasis.

05/03/2007 07:36 PM by Anita Ericksen (Realty Showcasing Inc.)

No I can't yet - but the books look so nice on the coffee table.......

I'm hoping no one would notice missing pages & I can use it for both purposes.

I think I found a new favorite.....  Kid's rooms.. they are too much fun.  I have even used tents to make a fort-like setting :)))))).

05/07/2007 09:17 PM by Lori Kim Polk, Sacramento Area Home Staging (Artful Journey Designs and Staging : Stager)

Anita,  I'm with your on creating a "spa like" bathroom.  There's nothing I like to see more than big fluffy towels, orchids, and candles.  Awwww - I can picture it now!!

05/07/2007 09:32 PM by Lori Hakeem (Keller Williams Realty)

I can't say I have a favorite because my mood changes with each house and where in one I just loved doing the table setting and another I really enjoyed the living room arrangement and bookshelves - am I odd in this respect? Sometimes I truly believe I have adult ADD! I go from one thing to another sometimes and go back again..that's why staging is truly a wonderful profession for me! It keeps me guessing and on my toes!

05/07/2007 09:37 PM by Karen Otto, Collin County, Plano, TX Home Stager (Home Star Staging)

Lori, great name and spelling :),  you are so right! That is why I love bathrooms so much too.  Whoopee, another bathroom gal!

No Karen.. it is called OCSD, but on your diagnosis I would change it to Obsessive Compulsive Hyperactive Staging Disorder.  OCHSD.....YOU are special :))))))))))))

05/07/2007 09:46 PM by Lori Kim Polk, Sacramento Area Home Staging (Artful Journey Designs and Staging : Stager)

Lori, yes I like your spelling, too!!!!  ;)  My parents always said...make it easy.  No need to complicate things!!!!     The "other" Lori

05/07/2007 09:48 PM by Lori Hakeem (Keller Williams Realty)

Thank you for your diagnosis Dr. Polk, I'm feeling better now...

05/07/2007 09:59 PM by Karen Otto, Collin County, Plano, TX Home Stager (Home Star Staging)

Karen,  Oh... I forgot the meds.  2 aspirin and a glass of 96 Cab should do it! ;)  Research shows that this can help the symptoms to subside just a bit.  Incase of exteme complications..... drink the whole bottle of the Cab.

My favorite feature in a home is the fireplace ... I love playing those up to full potential.

Thank you Sandi... what a great pic and a new area to boot!  I wonder who else has the fireplace forte. Anyone with a laundry room interest????

Thanks Lori.  I should have mentioned that the homeowner has since painted out the dark window trim and hung simple sheer panels, as per my suggestion.  It looks so much better.
