Hello everyone ,

This is my first post for this group as I am just finding out about alot of these things. I just became the first certified EcoBroker in New Jersey and looking to plug in as much as possible to the ideas and what folks are actually doing in the real world regarding Green awareness and education in our business.

I did want to share something I thought alot of you would really enjoy, if you have ever heard of the TED conference held each year you may know about some of the amazing prople that speak there .  My first offering is a link to a talk given by Majura Carter , a woman in the South Bronx of NY who literally is changing the world as we speak. it is about 20 minutes long , do yourself a favor and watch the whole thing and tell me what you thought. I hope you will see how this relates to our business and why I shared it.

Thanks ,

Good luck. You have to realize that the green movement and the eco brokers are a strong voice within this political ideology which is anti housing, anti builder, anti development and anti property owner's rights. Pro regulation, pro tax increases for "green" business and all the rest of the under pinnings to economic hardship to the tradesman that build thisa country.

"So I'm sitting at my desk at work, earplugs inserted, and tears running down my face. I'm watching this video of Majora Carter's presentation at TED, and thinking ... I love this woman! But don't listen to me ... go listen to her!"

I found out something pretty powerful today, New Jersey gives up to 50% on some Green improvements installations on your home through one of their grant programs .  It can be used for a variety of solar, wind, and other approveds energy upgrades.

Check with your state to see what's out there.

Dave~  Good information on NJ energy credits. Do you know of a link to other States' info?

Hi JaneAnne,

You could try the US Green Building Council and find the local chapters, That was a great source for me out here .  I also joined the group.  There is also the States Dept. of Energy , they generally have alot of great material on funding programs for Energy upgrades.

http://www.njcleanenergy.com/ci.html    This is the New Jersey site

http://www.usgbc.org/Chapters/ChapterList.aspx?CMSPageID=191&   This is the Green Building Council Site.

Hope that helps, have a great day
