Active Rain has a few fine members, and this guy stands out among the crowd.  An hour ago or so I received this great communique (via private email) from David Podgursky (The Mortgage Go To Guy from Boynton Beach, Florida).  He wanted to make me aware of the latest information regarding the continuing controversy over revision of the Florida property tax laws.   David just wanted to let me know what was going on so I too, could pass this information on to interested readers.  He is so cool.iPod Picture

I spoke with Mrs. Blanchet, who is visiting family in Florida (they've not been well) for a while and she confirmed it was all over the news.  I don't intend to elaborate here - David deserves all the credit for his crackerjack reporting and thoughtfulness about a fellow blogger.  It's HIS story.

Check it out. - though this link to The Mortgage Go To Guy's (and Roving Reporter) Blog:

Florida Property Tax Update - Republican Bill Passes in the House

Thank you for thinking of us David.

4 Comments on Would You Trade SALES TAX for PROPERTY TAX? - A Follow-Up from David Podgursky

Thanks for the post. Don't live in Florida, but still interesting.  I had rather have sales tax, at least it affects everyone, not just property owners.

thanks Ben

and thanks Art and Bill!

I appreciate the sentiments

I also should warn you that I posted a follow up to that post as the House Bill was rejected by the Senate and now they're working on compromising between the two plans... the Senate Bill came out differently than expected but there are some really good points in it...

I will be taking on your Grandma Grandpa post w/a swing at how it will effect the retiree community!

Art....   I'll take a look at this. Thanks... I actually like David and his stuff also.

In regards to Stevens Point....  my mom would kill me. I think she was born there.... I know she lived there for many years. Her maiden name is Quinn. My dad was born and raised in Two Rivers, Wi. And he went to UW. My mom went to nursing school in Chicago?
