Cards for Heroes- Helping Our Miitary However We Can

On Sunday, October 12, 2008, my good friend, former client, real estate assistant, and top notch Stampin Up demonstrator Deena Boos, hosted her second Cards for Heroes charity event to benefit all of our service men & women over seas. Deena & Apex neighbors make cards

The Cards for Heroes organization is a wonderful group that gathers handmade greeting cards and sends them overseas to our soldiers for their personal use. Our soldiers are very thankful to have such nice cards to send home to their families.

Deena and 4 other demonstrators from the Apex North Carolina area used their creative talents to design a card for everyone to make, as well as provided all the materials to make the card.

This event was free; they just needed help in making the cards! Stampin' Up! Demonstrators were there to provide instruction and assistance.

Apex women enjoy crafts Sunday they had almost 40 people,including my sister and me, eager to make cards that will be sent to our military. Approximately 200 cards will be sent to our heroes!

Deena said: "As a former military wife and rubber stamping business owner, I find joy in holding card making events that bring people together for this great cause. Please consider joining us at our next event."

We say thanks to Deena and the other Stampin Up Demonstrators for using their time, money, and talents to help the service men & women who are doing so much for our country.

A very worthy cause! Thank you for sharing this event with us. Deena is not only a great client/assistant/ friend to us, she's a wonderful person as well. If you're ever thinking about getting into the stamping hobby, let Linda know so she can get you in touch with one of the best.....Deena!

Coming from a National Guard soldier current on deployment thank you for coordinating this event!!

Every part helps for everyone deployed. Think of this as your way to help ensure our freedom is defended by helping the soldiers serving to have positive thoughts about the mission.

As a former soldier stationed in Korea for just one year I cannot tell you how much it meant getting anything in the mail let alone a handmade card that someone who took the time to make. What a great event and thing to do in support of US soldiers who are making the real sacrifice for our country not all of the politicians who send them there.
