Obama is smarter than Palin!! So what??

Everyone keeps saying Obama is sooo smart & graduated Harvard. Of course he's smart, HELLO.....he graduated Harvard!  But does anyone remember that Bush graduated Yale?  He's smart as well but his critics perception is that he is dumb.  Bush is NOT dumb...he graduated Yale!  What is the difference in these 2 mens educational background?  If anything, Bush had more experience before entering into the Presidential race.

How is the argument litigimate that Obama is inexperienced but he's smart & graduated Harvard against Palin being inexperience but she didn't go an Ivy League school?  I think what people need to remember is Palin is NOT running for President.  OK...I hear the Obamanites saying: But she's a heartbeat away from the Presidency...Are people voting for Obama because Joe Biden is a heartbeat away from the Presidency? No, that statement is simply not valid & is an excuse not a reason.

On the debate: Palin did make some small blunders (wouldn't you if you had to pronounce those names?), but Biden out right lied about some of the facts!  Just because he's been in the Senate over 30 yrs. doesn't give him the right to make things up as he goes along, simply hoping the American people won't know the difference.  And, to be honest, I didn't know the facts he spewed were not correct until I listened to the news afterward.  But no one will mention these facts other than Fox or Rush because the local networks, MSNBC & CNN have such a bias against her, they don't want to give her any credit. She is not stupid, she's a Governor for heavens sake!  Does the media or any of us have what it takes to be a Governor or even a VP nominee? Some do I'm sure, but most...I doubt it!

People are so judgemental over little things, but let's keep it in prespective who is running for president and who is running for Vice President.

12 Comments on Obama graduated Harvard, Bush graduated Yale!

Your last sentence makes a lot of sense.  And I don't think it matters where any of them graduated.

I thought John McCain was running for President. If he was smart he would not have said on September 15th 2008 "The economy is fundamentally strong"

That fundamentally strong comment by McCain has been the most mis-represented comment in Obama's campaign. McCain was talking about the AMERICAN WORKFORCE!!

I heard McCain make the comment with my own ears not through any campaign mis-representation. McCain is fundamentally wrong! He was talking about apples but he meant oranges? What does that mean he was talking about the AMERICAN WORKFORCE

I'm voting for the smartest guy in the race. I would rather have someone who was smart enough to head the Harvard Law Review running the country, rather than someone who was near the bottom of his class at the Academy.

As far as Palin is concerned- she didn't do too bad in the debate because if she didn't know how to answer a question she just ignored it and talked about what she wanted to talk about. The interviews, where she actually had to answer questions asked, were disasters. Come on- couldn't name a newspaper or magazine she reads? Didn't know any other Supreme Court decision she disagrees with other than Roe v. Wade? Rambles about all kinds of things when asked about the bailout? Thinks being able to see Russia is foreign policy experience? She may be cunning- but she's not smart.

And Bush IS dumb. Where he went to college doesn't change that. You can't fix stupid.

Diana, I wrote a post about the debate. I think Palin appeared as she really is--smart! And Priinciples are more important than where one went to school-- yale and harvard, like so many liberal schools, well-- they suck the God that parents might have put there out of young minds.

I understand your concern Leslie, but I don't think Mr. Bush is dumb. We all have our favorite candidate and right or wrong we have to believe in what is best for our families and what we can live with past the election.  I have decided NOT to vote for Obama because of his inexperience and I'm not sure of his view on religious values. It's all of the little things that keep gnawing at me.  Maybe that makes me dumb as well, but I don't understand why he won't put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem? Maybe you haven't saw that clip. I don't understand why his Wife would say for the 1st time she's proud of her country? That isn't presidential.

Don't get me wrong if Obama becomes our President he will get the respect he deserves from me at all times. He will be (just as Mr. Bush is now) the leader of our country and for that he deserves the right to be respected at ALL times, not just when things are going smooth. Anyone who makes it that far is not dumb. No matter what happens the important thing is that we do live in the greatest country in the world and our "spouts" & "spews" are the advantage of living free; brought to us by those who sacrificed everything.

My way of thinking is not all inclusive, but it comes via an advantage of living with a Husband that served many years & 2 wars, who did not always agree with his Commander in Chief, but always, always, always respected him and would of died defending him & the country he was over.

God help us that the best man will win!

I must say - reading this post and its comments is just like listening to the news.  We all have our side and we defend each person from that angle.  None of us is unbiased.  We know a candidate stands for this or that, and tend to make all the rest "ok".  I think liberals as a whole will be the demise of this country - but I can find 10 of you in a second to rip me a new one for whatever reason I believe what I believe.  Sometimes the arguing is "fun", sometimes useful, but often it is just a nonsensicle(sp) waste of time!!  Ha.

Biden is the Dem's version of Dan Quail.  This man is the epitome of a politician's politician

Potoatoe=Quail.

Regarding education, I have to agree with Leslie. Education is important. Barack Obama is extremely intelligent and well educated, just like Bill Clinton. George Bush was awarded a degree from Yale. Sarah Palin...did she graduate? How many colleges did she go to? I heard it was six different colleges. For those to say it doesn't matter...it does matter. There are many people who have been extremely successful without going to or graduating from college. I just happen to believe we need a smart president.

You think Bush is smart because he graduated Yale? Bush got into Yale because of his father and graduated with C's and D's. Obama graduated Harvard almost top of his class with a lot less help than what Bush got. Palin is a heartbeat away from presidency because of mccain's old age. Biden isn't because it's unlikely that Barack will die from a heartattack. I think that's how most people interpret that statement.

As for Palin, she reasoned that she had adequate foreign policy experience because she could see Russia from Alaska! Ridiculous, if you watched her interview with Charles Gibson from ABC, you can immediately see that she has absolutely no idea of what she was talking about! Not only that, Palin transferred to 5 schools and took 6 years to get a journalism degree. Most people can do that in less than 4 years! Additionally, Mccain graduated almost last in Naval Academy.

If I'm voting for a President who can make good decisions, I'm voting for the one who's more capable and more intelligent. Now I may be biased, but numbers are numbers, and I clearly see who is the smarter candidate.

I was just going to say what the poster above me said.  Bush got into Yale because of family connections and had a C average.  Obama got into those schools on his own merit.  Obama is self-made, and has an extremely strong work ethic, just look at what he has accomplished in his young life and in the past two years.  If he can accomplish all that, I'm pretty confident he can accomplish a lot to get this country out the shithole that incompetent, dumb as rocks, war-mongering Bush got us into.
