All we hear about these days are how bad the economy is - foreclosures - companies going under - people getting laid off from their jobs - just so much NEGATIVE all around us - I really do not like to even listen to the news anymore - you never hear anything good - and usually what is happening - sounds a lot worse coming from them - I have always heard - what goes up - must come down - so maybe that is a good phrase to use at times - but what do you actually think about the real estate market - is it coming to bounce back for us???? Does this cloud have a silver lining???? I sure hope so!

We've been in RE 20 years. While I've never seen a mess like this one, I've seen plenty of ups and downs. Sure, the market will come back up. The question is WHEN, not IF.

Norma,

One thing about clouds - they usually don't cover everyone at once. All this means is that you can change where you're looking and get out from the clouds. :)

For us here in Orange County, California, I would say the silver lining is that a much larger percentage of people can actually afford to purchase a home now that the median price is down significantly.

I agree with Leslie-the market will come back, I am just not sure when.  All we can do is make best of the current situation.

Clouds are beautiful. There's even a group here at Active Rain called Clouds. My wise old grandmother taught me that when it rained, get out the buckets and collect the water to save it for those days when it didn't rain and water was needed.
