Social Media...we keep reading how blogging is good for business, and for networking. As a member of Active Rain, whether new or old, we have learned what it means to be a part of a community, something bigger than just ourselves. As a member of Twitter we have expanded ourselves even more......to that big outside world of the Internet. Well, both Twitter and Active Rain are being called upon to be even larger members of the Global Community of Humanity. All of us are being asked to participate in Blog Action Day 2008. And both Twitter and Active Rain are participating....here's how you can too.

Last year Blog Action Day was on the Environment. Many of us on Active Rain participated by writing Posts all on the same day, with people from all over the world, on a single subject-the Environment. This year Blog Action Day is on October 15th, and the Topic is Poverty.
Here on Active Rain, Jo-Anne Smith has opened a Group for people to post their entries. You have to join the Group, then Post your Poverty entry in it. I know from last year that there was such a variety of Posts from all over the World, and I was very pleased to put my Post out there with so many other caring people. This year I am doing the same and ask all of you to take a little time, and add your voice to those of others that care about Poverty.
What to do:
- Join Jo-Ann's Group here
- Register your Blog on the Official Blog Action Day Site.....
- Invite your friends, and colleagues to Post a Blog the same Day on the same subject....one voice multiplied....who knows who might read it.
- Even if you don't register on the Official Site, Post your Blog on Active Rain
- Twitter your Followers with reminders
- Put a reminder in your Blackberry, Outlook, or anywhere else that reminds you of Important Things
- And above all remember that one Voice can and does make a difference........

Good evening Kathy,
Ok, I'm in, will go over to Jo's group and join up. With your experience in the Peace Corps, I know you have a story to tell.
