“we got the babe”
I almost couldn't stop laughin' at smilin’ Joey. Pallin, "The Babe", looked nervous for awhile, but overall, they pitched her the questions and she hit them out of the park.
I thought she did a great job--"who won-who lost"--doesn't matter.
How they came across is what mattered. The American public has a power plant they called the B.S. Detector--They had it turned on last night.
What registered on the B.S. Detectors in American last night was The-Joe-of–the- Old- Guard and the old ways.

Of course, Joe tells us Barack is the “new suit for change" and will do things differently, but the new suit is "empty" It is a mirage, filled with slick talk, slicker and more persuasive than, I believe the SLICK ONE.
The Gay Rights Activists were delivered a message last night—neither candidate endorses marriage as anything BUT between a man and a woman.
Perhaps, Obama and Biden are "getting" that they are out of step with most Americans on Abortion and Gay Rights Issues.

CLEVELAND, OHIO–Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into this one.
“Patrons of Cleveland gay bar have eyes only for Biden; deep disdain for his Republican rival
Last night, members of Cleveland's gay community, as well as Democratic Party activists, lined up in front of the giant TV screen in the Union Station bar as Alaska Governor Sarah Palin flashed into view, along with her Democratic opponent Senator Joe Biden, for the U.S. vice-presidential debate.

“Sarah, AKA The Babe”
Palin's neon smile – even her coy wink – cut no ice cubes with them. The Gender Issue, predicted to be crucial for Palin's first full-frontal exposure to the American public.
Palin's opposition to gay marriage, and her reluctance to accept equal rights, drew hoots and jeers from the audience. It reminded them that as governor of Alaska she opposed marriage equality and letting acknowledged gays serve in the military. And she supported a vote for legislation aimed at taking away same-sex partner benefits granted by the Alaska Supreme Court.
Palin's hometown church promoted a conference to convert gays to heterosexuals through prayer. (oooooooh, tsk, tsk—my comment)
But there were no converts to the Republican ticket last night, in the large dimly-lit bar surrounded by screens that multiplied Palin's image dizzyingly across the room.
"To me, a world view is a package deal," said Fran Friedman, a psychologist. "Human rights, the war in Iraq, gay rights, they're all part of the package. I don't want to vote for somebody who keeps this nation so far behind every other evolved Western country." (This will give you an idea of the mind-set of America’s fringe groups—in the minority for sure)

Gays in swing states are in the minority, and some are voting Republican: "a case of religious values trumping gay rights," But not here.
"The stakes are tremendously high," said Rob Rivera, a teacher and lawyer who keeps an eye on legislative issues. "The next president is going to appoint at least two Supreme Court justices.
If it's McCain – or worse, Palin –that will be a disaster. Obama is the most gay-friendly candidate ever."
(--A BREATH of FRESH AIR—) Across town earlier in the day,--
Annie Jones, a packer for an Ohio moving company, had a sharply different view, reflecting the real social conservatism of the region. "Sarah is the only one I identify with," she said, exhaling smoke in a damp doorway. "I love her image, and I love her values. I hope she does get to be president someday."
While the latest polls show a lack of confidence in Palin's ability to run a country of 300 million, to her dedicated fans – who see her as a Christian American idol – and line up for hours to catch a glimpse of their heroine, none of that matters. Their minds were made up the moment she stepped into the spotlight as a heaven-sent VP candidate.
"She's attractive but wholesome," said Liz Barrow, a retired Columbus, Ohio nurse. "It's so rare these days that a young woman is popular for all the right reasons."
Palin's discreet charm eluded the crowd at the Union Station bar.
"She represents the extreme fundamentalist wing of the Republican party," said social worker Doug Braun. "There are crazy people everywhere, and I say live and let live. But not if they want to run the country."
--End of story--

Remember this guy? (The Great Equivocator)
Pallin did not equivocate—although the spin is “she didn’t answer questions” on the economy—Think about this what would it mean to this economy and to our treasury if we were not dependent on foreign oil? But Barry and Joe don’t want to drill. No, they’ll tax the “rich”and build wind mills. Increasing taxes, has ALWAYS proven to undermine economic growth. She did bring up the need to become energy independent, did put for forward the plan to fund healthcare which would not require more taxes, blah, blah, blah--the bias press shows their ignorance
There are no simple answers or sound bites for BIG problems : Biden constantly referred to numbers and the way McCain voted—you know? this morning American ain’t gonna remember anything about how many times any candidate voted for or against anything.
BUT they will have a vivid memory of a real, intelligent, gutsy, capable woman who will make mince meat out of the stodgy, condescending club in Washington.
Pallin represents, to me, something fresh, something new, and an administration who WILL clean up Washington and SERVE the people.
The Likeability Factor--

Who did voters like more last night? (Smilin Joey or "The Babe?") The American Public has another instrument which they turn on it's the Likeability thermometer--Last night it was off the charts--
Sarah is extremely likeable, She was "real, direct, sweet and has the ability to make you smile, even when she's sticking you with a pin, (Smilin’ Joey, knows.)
She did not do the talking points dance as did Biden—same worn out attacks about McCain’s record. This was Joey’s major strategy—
Biden tells half the story and half truths about how McCain voted and why he objected to provisions of a particular bill--like approving financing for troops with a timeline, for example.
Anyone who has connection with the military, knows, you don't tell the enemy what you're going to do and when you're going to do it before you do it. This is just plain stupid--And that’s WHY McCain voted the way he did.
"The majority of American People are not stupid, Joey"
There is a lot of wiggling and negotiating that one must do, to do the right thing in Congress and we all know that and somehow Joey wanted to make Senator McCain look unpatriotic because he refused to approve a bill for financing the troops that also contained an agreement to a timeline for withdrawal.
Big Mistake!
You think he's unpatriotic? Biden had some nerve tossing the bomb about financing the troops-- no one cares more or knows more about what TROOPS need than McCain
I wouldn't want to go through what McCain did. He had the guts and the will to survive as a POW and then he was so inspired by what American stood for he dedicate His life to serving his country.

John McCain, US NAVY
For me, I’d rather have a Commander-in-Chief who actually did put on a uniform to serve his country and who knows what it is to put his life on the line. He knows how to come to the right decisions when he asks young people who volunteer for our Armed Forces to defend our freedoms and our American Way.
Obama on the other hand--served as a "Community Organizer-Activist" who was on the board of the Wood foundation who funneled millions of dollars to ACORN--the organization who was to receive 20% of the profits from the sale of junk mortgage paper as a part of the original bail-out package. ACORN has been accused over and over of fraudulent voter registration activities.
Pallin could have attacked questionable Obama’s associations which are—to say the least—a bit disconcerting—(she didn't, but I would have) especially this ONE: his current advisors--men who had their hands in the till of Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac—who walked away with millions of dollars after their tenures in leadership positions, and who used those positions to funnel money to OBAMA’s runs for office
I know what Palin did as a Govenor and don't know what Obama did to improve conditions in his own state--there in Chicago you still have poor housing, a high crime and murder rate and all Obama can do is parrot what he reads on a teleprompter-- To me his intentions are not pure: His only goal was not to serve, but to serve himself and cut a path to the highest office in the land, who is left of Fidel Castro.
So, what do I want?
-- A Leader who knows what is means to be Warrior: who understands what it’s like to get shot at and put his life on the line for this Country instead a social activist who claims he’ll fight for me—(please Barry go fight for your liberal friends.”
--An administration who believes in wind-mills or a team that will get us to energy independence
--A Partial Birth Obama-Biden vs Respect for Life McCain-Pallin administration that is committed to Traditional Family Values or an administration that will give folks just about anything they want
--an administration that will give you “straight-talk or one that will tell them me what they want to hear to stay in office
Some Republican critics claim, “he wasn’t our first choice”. Stop Gals & fellas, he is THE choice—or would
you prefer Joey and Barry?
We needed a women to run and we got it. She is sharp, and will learn her way with the issues of Washington. She need not debate the same as Biden, she can do her own style.
