I have been reading many posts lately and am surprised to see how many of them lack any punch. The old say "a picture says a thousand words" is so true. All of your posts should have a nice colorful photo or clipart. If you don't know how to add a photo or find photos and clipart check out one of these well written posts:

In fact, if you have a great photo of your area, your family or any graet photo you can write a post just about that photo.

Kelly Willey is the broker and began her real estate career in 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland and Long and Foster Realtors. She rose quickly to the top of her office and was the Rookie of the Year in 1989 with Coldwell Banker. Over the years she has earned numerous sales awards, sold millions and millions of dollars in real estate and attended a vast number of training programs. Kelly has specialized in working with many REO and foreclosure properties over the last 20 years. And, she holds the SRES, Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation for working with senior citizns and their special needs.

Kelly and her family have been very involved with Island Community Church and Island Christian school. Being involved as a youth leader with the teens sparked their interest in foreign missions. They have taken many trips to the Dominican Republic to serve the impoverished of that country and founded a non-profit corporation, Micah Missions, to raise money and awareness of that cause.

Great photo of your "family".

I used to write my posts in html to get photos, links, and text formatting that I wanted.  I've since found that it's so much simpler just to use the Active Rain text input and use the basic tools offered there.

Finding a picture that fits the topic is always not as fast as we wish, but when we do it does add to the impact. Thanks for reminding us

I agree!  You'll rarely see one of my posts without a photo or two... or maybe a text image... but too many is just as bad as none.  Like anything else, moderation is key.  I always have an open subscription at istockphoto.com and also use my own.

Thanks for the info Kelly, I am just starting to get my blog updated and adding pictures to my post. Have a great day.

Thanks for the mention!  I so agree that having photos in your blog help grab attention. A picture is definately worth a 1000 words!

Punch- Some are like dry toast and others like the Vegas Strip; a happy medium is always preferred, thanks for the post!

I always use photos and agree that they makes the post more attractive to readers.  Anytime you use something that helps people relate you are ahead of the game.
