I was visiting the blogs of people who have commented in my blog and ran across one that asked lots of questions about how you blog:
- How do you choose a subject for your blog entries?
- What caused you to choose that subject?
- Did you get your subject from a blog you read? (I just did)
- Were you having a heartfelt moment or a rant-and-rage moment and decided to blog about it?
- Did you choose a business subject or a personal subject? (Isn't business personal?)
- Are you just in it for the points? (It's obvious to me just how many are, but, hey, it's fun and doesn't hurt anyone, so why not?)
- Did the subject come from frustration about something or gratitutde about something?
- Did you choose it just because it sounded like fun to blog about it.
- Did you choose it to be controversial, such as politics, sex, or religion?
I do have a list of topics to blog about. I'm a list maker, so I keep paper and pen, voice recorder, digital camera, fresh batteries, and battery chargers handy at all times. There's a set at home, a set in the car, an extra set at home, and an extra set in the car. I don't want to ever be caught not being prepared.
Sometimes I might be out in the Boondocks visiting a Client. If I see something interesting going to or from the Boondocks, I can pull over and make notes, dictate, or take pictures.
Other times when I might not be in a hurry, I'll simply compose my blog on the voice recorder. In extreme situations, I can even blog directly on the computer because there's a WiFi hot spot there.
I can even do a vlog (video log) now because I upgraded the SD card in my digital camera to 8 GB. That allows me to take about 15,000 1MP pictures (which is the quality that I use for all my pictures) or almost 3½ hours of audio/visual recording. I've taken many vlogs lately of trips to the beach, the San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and Scripps Aquarium. 8 GB SD cards for your camera are as low as $35 and $19.99 on sale.
I've started carrying my camera so I can take photos through my day to add to my blogs. There is always something to say.
