When I was growing up, my Mom would say to me "Aw, you don't know the price of onions" or "You don't know the price of potatoes".  She would do this to get across her point I didn't know what I was talking about.  That made me more determined to research the facts before I spoke to her about the millions of subjects I was curious about.  I also learned more and developed a desire to always keep learning.  I was always eager to tell her something she didn't know but I did.   onion & potato

Just a little tidbit I realized today, my favorite tuna has not only been raised in price but the can has also shrunk in size.  My 6 ounce can now only contains 5 ounces.  Did they think I wouldn't realize this?  It looks the same but with as many cans as I have held in my hands over the years, I was sure to notice.  Sorry Charlie, like they used to say to Charlie the Tuna on the TV commercials, guess you will never get into this can.  The price just went up more!

Cute post, Ricki.  I never heard those particular phrases before but their were lots of other colorful phrases I heard as a child.  Regrading the price of food, I can't believe how much prices have gone up.

Well, Blue Bell has certainly made sure we'll notice that those other folks are selling us a smaller package for the same price, with their advertising campaign, haven't they?

Hi Shirley,   My Mom was full of old sayings.  I tried to get her to write them all down but she never did.  The price of food has really jumped since gas went up.  Have a good week, :)

Hi Tricia,    I'm just glad Blue Bell is still as big as it is.  It doesn't last long around our house :)

Hi Ricki... GREAT POST!  I have noticed several of my regular purchases in the Kroger have shrunk in size yet the price increased!  I hate to think of this as a trend, but I suspect this is just the beginning.

Ricki...

Cute, perfect for me to go bedie bye with :-).  Didn't want you to miss this I left for you....

Ricki...

I forgot to tell you I had another cat die!  Clyde, so now all I have is Bonnie, the one who has nothing to do with even me :-)...go figure.  We were at the lake and the pet setter came over and Clyde was just laying on the floor dead.

I had them take it to the vet, and he could not see anything wrong, and he had never acted sick at all.  He was only around 14 too.

Survived the Hurricane unscathed, didn't even loose power, but with everything going on...contest winners sill not ready.

Guess it's time for my pity party to stop and me get my butt back in life friendsThis slide show has still got me stuck.  I think I'll call Brad with AR and see if he can walk me through it.

Hi Steve,  I'm afraid you are right.  It is the beginning of a real trend, called inflation. Unfortunately, this is the normal process when we've experienced the things in the financial market that have happened lately and continue to happen.  That's why I said real estate is a good place to put your money while you still have some :)  Have a good selling week!

Hi Liz,  So sorry to hear about your cat.  That is awful!   Glad you did not lose electricity or have other problems with the hurricane.  That is a great picture of you and me and Jason.  Now the other one tells a story.  What does it say to you?  Look at that sheepish grin on Alan's face.  Does it say anything?  OK You know Alan!

Howdy Ricki

I sure enjoyed reading this fine post. My mom would also say, you don't know the price of onions to me. So one time I looked to see what they where going for. So when she said that to me I told her what they where saling for. Got to tell you that did not go over very well at all.

Sure am glad you, Don and our other friend's are ok.

Have not got to talk to my family over in Deer Park yet, their phone ain't working.

God Bless Texas, and all the Texas folk's!

Howdy Dale!   Thanks for commenting.  So your Mom used to say that to you too?  You are telling your age now just like me :) Yes there's many folks still without electricity and my heart goes out to everyone who was close to where Ike went.  It is devastating what has happened esp in Galveston but there are other areas hard hit as well.  Our prayers are with everyone.  Hope you hear from your family soon!

HI Ricki,  I had never heard that particular phrase before but I find it funny-odd how we all start quoting our moms and dads ... I think more like them all the time, does that show our age too?  :)

09/16/2008 06:43 AM by Gail Tassey (Keller Williams Realty)

Hi Gail,  Maybe?  I know I think my Mom is a lot smarter now than I used to.  She was actually a very wise woman.  Don't think I told her that enough.
