Just listening to the Economic News... and it looks like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are going to be bailed out at an expense to the taxpayer via the U.S. Treasury for up to 200 billion dollars!  That's a lot of cash my friends.  (An example of how much; the cancer research in this country amounts to $6 million.)

Job losses were 84,000 for August, 2008 more than the anticipated 75,000.  Unemployment is at a higher level than in 5 years.  Most of the losses were in manufacturing and construction.

There was a warning for those that have 401K and mutual funds to check if they are tied to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  There could be some loss there.  Someone will bear it.  We know from experience that the ones that bear the brunt of mistakes, corruption and bad policies are the little people not the CEO's and policy makers.  They walk away unscathed and we are left picking up the pieces and our children and our children's children are left paying for the loss.

Eleven bank failures this year and more may be looming on the horizon.  Do you think it is Time for a Change?  I do.

6 Comments on Another Bail Out, this time it's a big one

I agree Ricki, there have been too many bank failures this year, and no one at the helm. seems to be keeping track counting them.

Gary,  We hear so much every day, it's easy to forget what happened last month but we better not forget if we want to stop it from happening again and again.

Hi Ricki... Oh how you tempt me to go to that political place I am trying to avoid!  This is a HUGE and unprecedented bailout and like you said... at our expense.  Our country's fiscal policies and where our economy and federal budget deficit are at just turns my stomach.  I agree... It's Time for a Change!

Hi Steve,    I'm trying to avoid it too but it is hard to.  Thanks for commenting!

Howdy Ricki

We need to remember it's not just one office, that makes the policies for our Country.

Being a true Military guy, thats as far as I'll go to saying anything.

That's true Dale, but you know we are in more trouble than anyone would like to think.  We need to pray and take action to turn this around.   Have a good week! :)
