Not getting any comments on your blog? Not to worry. The world will not end. In fact, you just might be better than you think. To wit:
Down at the lower left side, just under "Points Summary" (I KNOW everyone has used that link!) is the single word "Statistics." Click on it and the default view tab shows you how many people have viewed your blog post in the group blog roll, and how many people have clicked through to your blog post instead of just viewing it in the group blog roll. Other than the numbers being different, I'm not sure of the difference between the two numbers since every blog post of mine has shown up in the blog roll. Maybe views means views after it scrolls off of page 1 of the blog roll. Anyway....
What my my wise old grandmother told me probably works equally as well here: "If you get one complaint, consider that to be the equivalent of 10 people complaining and do something about it." In looking at the statistics for my blog posts, each comment represents anywhere between 35 and 161 views, so 100 seems to be a good number for me to work with. So while blog comments are appreciated, of course, the fact that I seem to be getting my message out to about 100 people for each one who comments makes me happy.
Click on the other tab, "subscribers," and make sure you go visit your subscribers and comment in their blog, perhaps even subscribing to it, eh? You'll rapidly create a fan base who will then comment regularly on your blog posts.
So in answer to Pink Floyd's question, "Is there anybody out there?", Views and Click-throughs indicate that the answer is a resounding YES!
Hey thanks for sharing, I will have to take a look at that!!
Have a great weekend!!
