As a company that is focused on its web presence we felt it was very important to have our web address www.vizionkc.com on all of our marketing material.  That includes the new signs we just ordered and placed thru ought the city.  Our signs look something like this.

Rent To Own

816-372-7855

www.vizionkc.com

They are made of yellow corrugated plastic with black text on both sides.  Being these colors they really tend to pop out when people drive by.  While this form of advertising is extremely effective for getting rental leads I have notice that very few of the people who call can remember my website.  In fact the majority of people who call in actually ask me if I even have a website.  This puzzles me because I’m the complete opposite.   I’ve noticed that if I see an advertisement I’m more likely to remember the website than the phone number.   Maybe I’m just a bit more tech savvy, but if one more person calls me and says “hey I saw your sign do you guys have a website?”  I might just throw my phone across the room.  Is this a problem that a lot of people have run into or I am the only one?  What ways have you used to attract people on the street towards your website?

I don't think I would remember seeing the website either, if it is printed exactly as above.

Perhaps if you do something like www. VIZION KC . com, the focus would shift to the name of your company and it will be able for people to find you.  Just a little marketing technique/trick.......it may provide the result you are wanting

We all know that phone numbers will come in a xxx-xxx-xxxx format, less if there's only one area code, so they are not hard to remember.

With web sites, the easiest ones to remember are those that are pronounceable. With your web site, I'm spending my time trying to figure out how to pronounce it so that I can remember it, and before I can do that, I've zipped on by the sign.

When I see ZION, I think the religious pronounciation, so then is it VI with a long I or vih? Is it actually a play on "vision." Etc.

Actually, if I had to work with that name, I'd probably buy a more easily pronounceable and rememberable name, like justin.com (probably already taken) or justin-kc.com and put that on all my signs. Then I'd simply do a redirect so that when they went to justin.com they got redirected to vizionkc.com.

My voice recognition software also doesn't like vizionkc.com.

Russel -- Your second guess is correct its a play on the word vision.  I had not thought about getting a site re-direct before that actually makes great sense.  I could probably still use the kc but your right the whole vizion thing is hard to remember when your driving by.  Thanks for your suggestion.
