If you are a buyer and you have an offer on a short sale and you have not heard anything.....guess what? You are not alone. The asset managers and loss mitigation managers at the banks are overwhelmed and overworked. This is not your agent's fault.
You can have your agent look for other properties for you so you can make other offers. When the first one is accepted just cancel all the others.
It's kind of ironic that the banks are not making money on non-performing loans, so they are terminating people. Then they wind up not being adequately staffed to handle all the work on the foreclosures and short sales. It's a frustrating cycle.
