All Cell Phones Go Public Today- Not True-Sorry!

I posted this blog based on information I got from the Ulster County MLS our daily MLS board- AS you will see if you read the comments this information proves to not be true- Sorry!

Cell phone numbers go public today. All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies today. This means we will start to receive sale calls on our cell phones. I have been receiving some lately but they will surely increase over the coming weeks.

To prevent this, call the National Do Not Call List number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It will only take a minute of your time. The call can block your number for five years. You must call from the phone you want to have blocked. You may also go online at http://www.donotcall.gov

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds to have your phone blocked from being used by telemarketers.

Barb- What if our cell phone is listed on our business card and on the web as a contact number? If we block the number could that impact our business?

Jennifer - it shouldn't, the people that get your card have received your permission to call you. If they find it on your web site, blog site, AR, etc, they can call you for your real estate business. However, telemarketers still cannot call you.

It is a dual edged sword, we cannot cold call people who are on the DNC.

Barbara - this may also be just another one of those hoax's that have been going on for a couple of years. This same message has been going around the internet since about 2005.
