Here are the TOP 100 WEB applications according to C|NET and Webware. One year ago, I created a post of the TOP 100 links I had discovered being a member of ActiveRain. Webware has done all the work for me this year, so I have to give them ALL the kudos for their research and efforts.
The links here will take you to C|NET and the Webware details for each site so you can see if any of these applications will work for you or your business. The TOP 100 Web 2.0 applications were selected by 1.9 million Webware readers and Internet users across the World. Check them out, how many do you use?
Well, I use about 3/4 of these. Some of them I just don't like. And as an avid Google hater, if there is any one of their products that I can avoid using, I will.
I can always appreciate a well-done collage! This, to me, is like looking at a well-stocked pantry, only we can eat dozens of meals a day--- or at least snack on these staples and know we'll have GO power :-)
Brad - I probably utilize about 25% of them, probably even less. I've heard of about half of them. Though, I have a special place in my heart for the two that weren't mentioned:-)
Wow. That's quite a list. I will have to get busy seeing what the others do and IF I need them. There is only so many tools you can have that can be used effectively. :). Thanks for the reminder about the talk show.
Hi Brad! I love CNET!! Great list they have put together. Some of these my daughter doesn't even know about. Wow! I am going to go check these out right now so I can completely take her off gaurd and find something before her! Thanks brad. :)
Brad, Thank you for the list. I know most of the ones on the list, but don't like or use them. I can not believe how many Google icons are up there on the list!!
It is hard to believe I lived without these couple of years ago. And if you notice almost all of them are free services and yet there is so much competition among companies and truly helping the end user. I can set up a fairly sophesticated website in a day's time spending virtually zero dollars. Technology is good, except for the fact that I spend more time online that necessary :-)
The internet is awesome and overwhelming and it's no wonder that children now spend most of their time in front of the computer instead of outside playing.
I wonder if someday we will have to have a guide to the guide to the guide to the list of lists of links to guides on how to navigate the innavigable internet?
Or maybe our brains will just get bigger and telepathy will handle the rest?
I'm with Missy, it's scary how many of these I do know and most of those I don't have time to use properly...I can't imagine trying to use all of these! But, when I think back to a year ago....we have come a long way together. I couldn't have done it without ActiveRain and all of my friends and such great support!
And - I know a lot of them and am also confused at why woot.com ended up on the list. Maybe the feedback and community systems they have for discussing their product?
I just don't think it can compare in usefulness to most of the others.
Good info! I use quite a few already and have already started to explore some of the others listed! I am sure next year they will have to add Google Chrome (the new web browser) I just downloaded it and started to explore a little. Looks nice so far!
Thanks for posting this, it is helpful information, I have added about 10 things from the list to my favorites. It's funny, my wife and I were just trying to send a 12MB file to someone today, and it wouldn't go, and I said "I know their are sites where you can easily send large files, I just don't know which one to use" and here in my inbox sits the answer with several options. Ask and Ye shall receive!!!
Brad-Wow! If as if my mind wasn't already overloaded on all the new stuff on A/R, here you are adding more wonderful and informative information. What's a newbie to do about information overload. HELP!!! You are the best. Thanks for all you do here on AR. Not having AR on the list is a colossal mistake. It is a wonderful tool and one are one of the reasons that it is. God Bless
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back here to this post. I just can't keep up with myself anymore these days! lol~ I still have to check some of these out. I Just went to woot to see what all the "hoot" was about, not sure how it ended up on the list but 1.9 million viewers felt it belonged I guess. :-))
Stop I've fallen and I can't get up. I don't have the time to keep up with what I have and now add 30 or 40 more sites to check out. Well maybe someday.
Thanks for posting the list, Brad. When I got the daily update from AR I explored a few--there are several that I've never heard of! I'm looking forward to some free time this weekend to do some more exploring and seeing which are good for me to add to favorites for further investigation--again, thanks.
Wow. Google is really working the list. I have not even heard of some of these sites. I will have to check some of them out. Thanks
