John McCain puts Country First with his choice for VP??? It terrifies us!!! He must think American's have the collective IQ of a squirrel

Exactly WHAT qualifies her to run the United States of America? She is one heart beat away from being President if McCain becomes President with all his medical issues, not to mention his age. It's horrifying enough to think John McCain could be running the country after George Bush and now this hasty selection . . .

She is No Hillary Clinton!!!! (1) Fomer beauty queen, runs marathons, hunts, fish and eats moose burers (2) Has 5 children/puts country first (3) Embarrasing baby story - She preaches abstinence and her 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant and her boy friend, Levi Johnston, proudly claims to be a redneck who doesn't want kids (5) Ongoing trooper scandal with X brother-in-law (6) Right wing Christian anti choice extremist who oppose abortion for any reason (5) Expected to stand up to world leaders but dodging the press since selected (7) Supports tax increases (8) Supported the Bridge to Nowhere and now denies she did so (9) As Mayor fired people for political reasons and anyone who doesn't agree with her (10) Currently under investigation for firing a man who refused to fire her brother-in-law (11) On the board of the 527 Group for Stevens who was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption (12) Only Mayor of a smal township of less than 9,000 people (13) Barely have served 2 years as governor (14) State Creamery Board wanted to shut down the unprofitable Matanuska Maid dairy. Palin wanted it kept open so she fired the entire Board and replaced them with her buddies and approved keeping he Dairy opened which failed anyway later in the year (15) Received passport in 2007 and been out of the country once (16) FBI was not consulted on her vetting (17) No foreign policy experience or knowledge - wait til she faces the debate with Joe Biden (WOW)!

She makes Barack Obama's resume look as thick as Winston Churchill.

How insane does it get? Is this woman the best possible choice to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?

Rita and Ferris:  Talk about great minds thinking alike.  Perhaps many Americans really do have the collective IQ of a squirrel.  Now... here is what I meant.

After listening to Sarah Palin talk in her kind of whiny voice... I just knew it reminded me of a voice from the past.  I thought and thought... and then it hit me.  Her voice is very, very similar to Rocky the Flying Squirrel from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show from about twenty or thirty years ago.  So... perhaps your remark about having the IQ of a squirrel is not that far from the truth.  Thanks for a great post.

Hello Rita and Ferris. Oh my. That first sentence is hilarious. IQ of a squirrel. Yes, she doesn't even come close to Hilary Clinton so I don't know why McCain thinks there is a chance of getting those voters. Does he think that just because shes a woman that's enough? I am glad people are getting excited about the upcoming election though. Its good to see people get involved even if they are IMHO misguided. :)

Welcome to AR.

Wow, so  much ado about a VP, while as inexperienced candidate for the President, who might be a terrific preacher, but otherwise have actually less experience, and he is OK? So, a VP is a disaster, and for the same token the President is a blessing? How come some real life experience of a governor (even a 2-year one) is nothing, but same length of legislative experience (not really well established by anyone) is a great advantage?

So, what did Barak Obama ever do? Made a speech in 2002, as Hillary noted a few times during her campaign?

And what makes Hillary such a great President? Lack of moral stance of any kind? Just because she is pragmatic makes her better than Obama, but this is quite a dubious distinction.

The lady kept saying that there was a right wing whatever against her husband, who was trying to figure out what was and what was not sex. She knew him, this was a political arrangement, shameful at best. He was a liar, but she also was a liar. And you all know that. What, in this particular case it is OK to have a liar for President?

Or you want to tell me that she is a person of integrity? That she is not a liar? Or not a politician of the worst kind? Listen to what she was saying about Obama during the campaign. She lied. Either when she was campaigning, or now. Just listen to her, not to me.

Don't have to worry about it.  It will all come out with the debate with Biden.

BTW...I don't think she will get many of Hillarys votes.  She doesn't need to.  McCain will pick up a few of the undecided independents. Palin will pull in the right wing and the rest of the people will look at Obama and ask...what has he done that makes him qualified?  Hmmm?  Lets see....  Um...........

Mr. and Mrs. Browner before you make alist you must research and get 100% your the facts right. I'm not even going to take the time to respond to the this kind of blog.

Yep, I also cn't wait for her debates with Biden. What can he offer except the old stuff, as he is in the Senate longer than McCain, I think. So, if talking abut same ole stuff, look at Biden.

If Obama is unable to run the country, do you want Biden as President?

09/02/2008 08:50 AM by Jon Zolsky (FunCoast Realty LLC)

Jon:  If I had to choose between Ms Palin and Mr Biden to run the country... it would be Senator Joe Biden... hands down.  There is nothing, absolutely nothing in Sarah Palin's background that gives even a hint that she is capable of handling the presidency.  What that also means is that... if it were to happen... she would simply surround herself with "voices from the past"... Cheney, Rove... and the rest of them if they are out of prison by then... and have them run the country... into the ground like they have for the last eight years.  No Way, No How, No McCain.

And now... No Foolin... No Palin.

Guys, welcome to active rain.  Sure, she is a rookie only a heartbeat away from the presidency. But, the other rookie, Obama, is aiming straight for the presidency.

She may be flayed in the VP debate by her experienced Democrat opponent Joe Biden. Alternatively, if she is allowed to be herself, she may impress voters by delivering straight-shooting, pithy answers that show up Biden as a long-winded, air bag.

Remember, she has moxy. "Competition defines and refines a person," ......she wrote. "It really is nothing to be afraid of." And this. "It's said the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick," wrote Palin in 2004. "So with lipstick on," she added, "the gloves come off." As others have already noted, if the role of the Veep is political attack dog, Palin is perfect.

Welcome to active rain.. you are stepping into the fire with this blog. I only wish the deomcrats would stop whining and slinging mud. If we are going to talk about Rookies then let's look at Obama.

Not to mention his endorsement by the Hamas Terriorist 4 months ago and  that Hamas just bailed his old business partner out of jail.

Point is McCain and Palin are running a solution oriented campaign, you can feel the energy in the air. All you hear of the competition is the same old whining song and sympathy for the people with no promise of solutions.

Anyone can criticize but Sarah Palin has fresh ideas and has a proven record fighting for change. Obama has no more experience on Foriegn Policy than Palin.

You could see the Democratic Reporters had the wind knocked out of their sails when Sarah Palin hit the scene. Everything you have criticized her for has nothing to do with running the Government except the foriegn policy and Obama is right there too...escept he is running for President which makes him a even weaker choice of lack of experience in this election than McCain

One day I hope we will see a democratic party naming the strong points of their candidate without putting down the competition. Then I will be impressed.

Yeah, sure. The presidential candidate, on the contrary has visited 57 States, and Alaska was not one of them. So, he has not even started, and such an expansion of the country...

Karen Anne,

You can't be serious that "There is nothing, absolutely nothing in Sarah Palin's background that gives even a hint that she is capable of handling the presidency". She is not coming from the day care, she is a governor of a State, and this is as close to Presidency as it can only be. I think that executive experience of a governor, who makes decisions day in day out is better than a Senator, who debate the issues, when and if they want, pretty much. And whether she was there 6 months or 2 years does not really matter. You are destined to fold, you would fold in one month. You either can hold the pressure, or you can't. She can.

But she is not vying for Presidency, Obama does. Any better credentials? Any hint of that? Where?

As a politician, he already lost by not inviting Hillary to the ticket. He gambled even before becoming a president. If he can't work with supporters, like Hillary, how do you expect him to work with adversaries.

Do you like Obama, because you do not like McCain? Is that the only reason?

09/02/2008 09:50 PM by Jon Zolsky (FunCoast Realty LLC)

Rita and Ferris, Wow.  I'm not surprised.  Sarah Palin is going to prove to be a force to be reckoned with.  Don't think for one minute this woman can't do the job.  I couldn't help but notice there weren't any accomplishments of Obamas listed in your blog.  Why is that?

Senior Advacate -

Amazing. Thank you for your comment.

Karen Ann Stone -

You have a point. Thank for your comment.

Pamala Williamson - On target. Thank you for your comment.

Ron Bolton -

Her point of view is important. Thank you for your comment.

Mary Thomas -

Thank you for your comment. The great thing about America is freedom of speach. As a realtor and I in the finance area. I beleive we would like the econmy to get back to a healthy period. We have had 8 years of the BUSH administration. Our economy is in the toilet and we owe China a bundle. Get people working on good jobs that can't be out sourced. Borrowers credit is over extended. Out of favor with the banks guide lines. The over all way credit is evaluated today, will likely change. Obama 08, has a plan for change.

You forgot something . . .

Used her line item veto power as Governor to take away funding for a program that provided housing for homeless pregnant teens. How is that in line with Christian values? How is that even in line with pro-life? Doesn't the unborn child deserve to have their mother live in a safe, clean, stress-free environtment.

I guess it's lucky for her daughter that she has somewhere to stay!

Heat posting... I think we should all take an active role in figuring out what is good for the country and what will be the best President and Vice-President for the USA.  Great posting...

Real Estate Blog or political ax blog?  It would be nice if Rita and Ferris Browner used spell check and proofed their writing before publishing. The sign of well rounded thought is being able to sell both sides of the argument.  So far Rita and Ferris Browner only talk of negatives about Palin.  As for Hillary, Remember Whitewater, Travelgate, Monicagate (actually Bill's problem) about the only gate that she hasn't opened is Bill's gate. Hundreds of millions of dollars was wasted, literally wasted on investigating Bill and Hillary while they were in the White House. We are in for a surprise on who ever is elected. If anyone thinks Obama will stop the war you must be kidding yourself. It would take years to pull out and the terrorists will keep on coming.

With reference to the article Ferris and Rita presented I agree with it. However Sara Palin was chosen to do exactly what she is doing, getting votes for McCain. It is scary that she could ultimatley become the President but it is TERRIFYING that McCain could get the office with all of his prehistoric values and views. I am afraid for Women, African-Americans and Gays if he has his way. I am clear that NO ONE REALLY has the "experience" to run this country till you get into it. That is why you pick the BEST qualified to help and assist you. Barack picked the best and McCain picked someone who will get him into office due to her appeal.
