My little man and I went and saw a movie  tonight called the Dark Knight. Good Movie! It was about three hours long but as the time went on I realize my little gut was pretty quiet through the whole thing.

As I was taking him back home from the cinema I realized that school starts tomorrow.

I am glad he is going into eighth grade and learns well, but at the same time a selfish thing comes over me.

I realize that when I had time during the day I could go and hang out with him, talk, and do more.

That is now gone.

It's funny how the little things in life are the things that can bring tears to your eyes.

6 Comments on For most of us our kids go back to school. that's good, and it's sad.

The time flys when you want it to stand still.  You are right Dark Knight is a good flick.

hi Mr Tombo,

I really enjoyed that movie too and Keith was outstanding.

Your little guy is really growing up! Is he as tall as you yet?

I still haven't moved past the fact that my little guys are all grown up now and live on the other side of the country....I miss them every day. You're right about the little things in life bringing tears to our eyes...

Tom, your son looks like a double of you. It's always hard when they go back to school but just wait till the day he goes off to college...this is to prepare you little by little.
