While browsing through YouTube for a hundred different things, as usual, I came across this video clip of Sara Palin on the Glenn Beck show ....   the one from a few months ago where Glenn asks her about the possibility of being tapped by John McCain, and she answers "If I had to make such a decision today, it would be no...."

Enjoy!...."

She sounds like a very sharp and intelligent woman I wonder how this will shape McCain campaign

Wow! What a gal.  Let's go McCain/Palin

08/30/2008 08:44 PM by Kenneth Cole (Appleseed GMAC Real Estate)

I must differ with the previous commenters for a lot of reasons and since this may get into political nastiness, let's just say I have a more liberal point of view.  I think McCain probably though he had nothing to lose by asking her to run with him.  A bold choice but, unfortunately, the last nail in his campaign coffin.

Cheryl, the video didn't work well for me....but I'm excited about having her on the ticket...

BTW? Which tripod - if you remember - did you recommend to me awhile back? ;-)

Hi Cj, I think she was a surprise to nearly everyone but the more I see the more I like and I can see this women with her sincere and real way of communicating with the public as a future President of the country. No Bull with her. Strong, intelligent and gracious. Those are not the usual traits found in politics. If people want a change they have a real opportunity for it in Sarah.

Re Palin:  I am finding she is very intelligent and likable.

But our views (mine and Sara's, that is) on social issues such as guns, choice, and gay rights are quite far apart.

08/30/2008 11:19 PM by Cheryl Johnson, Bob Taylor Properties, Inc., Los Angeles, CA

Sara is refreshing - a draw back to "old school" republican - closer to libertarian than ever.  I like that she believes in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights - we do not need to mess with those.

Cheryl - I missed this, although I don't often watch Beck so that is not surprising. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting this clip. She is pretty straight forward and while I don't agree eithe it makes the next two months much more interesting.

The more I find out about her the more I like her.

Her best trait is that she is far from the old school politics, and I think she couldl really do alot of long overdue "house cleaning" in DC.

I also consider myself more Libertarian than anything else so she is right up my alley!!!

Obama sure talks about expanding government, thus raising taxes, a whole lot more than Palin does- I guess I have to give him that!

09/01/2008 08:43 PM by Leo Pierson, Jr.

2 of my favorite people: Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. I just can't believe Obama chose Joe Biden - he is a grumpy old man who hates everything. what were the libs thinking?

just glad he asked her on a different day- I wonder how many sound bits there are of other politicians NOT running (for years on end and then throwing their name in) , one comes to mind.

I look at things this way....

Would you be better off with 100% of congress and the presidency being Obama and his clones to run the entire country...war's and all?

OR

100% of Sara Palin and her clones running all of congress and the presidency?

09/05/2008 06:04 PM by David W. Bolick (Network Real Estate, Inc.)

I think she is smart--and pretty--that is coming from a "Straight" woman!

But I think she should have said "No"  Who's going to govern Alaska now!  Doesn't she care anymore?

I find it funny that people compare her to Obama---as if they were running against each other, correct me if I am wrong---isn't MaCain running against Obama?

09/06/2008 01:06 AM by Aida Pinto Real Estate and Loan Consultant (ReoLicensedSpecialist.com)

Reo broker;  you are correct, McCain is running against Obama, but, Obama is no match when you compare him to McCain.  So, in order to make Obama look good, die hard Dems need to put him up against someone who they think will make Obama look good.  So, they mistakenly try to make Palin look inexperienced.  Truth be told, it's backfiring.  The more they bring up Sarah Palin, the more they make her look good.  Just my opinion.

Americans have an unhealthy desire to see average people promoted to positions of great authority. No one wants an average neurosurgeon or even an average carpenter, but when it comes time to vest a man or woman with more power and responsibility than any person has held in human history, Americans say they want a regular guy, someone just like themselves.

President Bush kept his edge on the "Who would you like to have a beer with?" poll question in 2004, and won reelection.

This is one of the many points at which narcissism becomes indistinguishable from masochism. Let me put it plainly: If you want someone just like you to be president of the United States, or even vice president, you deserve whatever dysfunctional society you get. You deserve to be poor, to see the environment despoiled, to watch your children receive a fourth-rate education and to suffer as this country wages - and loses - both necessary and unnecessary wars.

Sam Harris, LA Times

From The Guide to the Conservative Palinguage, huffingtonpost.com

If you get 18 million people to vote for you in a national presidential primary, you're a "phoney."

Get 100,000+ people to vote you governor of  the 47th most populous state in the Union, you're "well loved."

SoyAA says: If you are biracial and born in a state not connected to the lower 48, America needs darn near 2 years and 3 major speeches to "get to know you."

If you're white and from a state not connected to the lower 48, America needs 36 minutes and 38 seconds worth of an acceptance speech to know you're "one of us."

Wow! the above blog are really smart people.  I wish I were as smart.

09/06/2008 02:05 PM by Kenneth Cole (Appleseed GMAC Real Estate)

Janice....you're a powerhouse of knowledge.  I assume Huffington provides you with all your intellect.  I bet Leona Helmsley was an idol as well.

I suppose you think that to be a good neuro surgeon you have to have gone to MEDICAL school and then maybe excelled in actual Surgery.  And further assume you think that to be a supreme court justice, you actually think the person needs to be an "Attorney" with a law degree, and to be the President and CEO of say Citibank you need to actually have a degree in finance and business and be an accomplished person running a large company...BUT, TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, YOU NEED TO HAVE (1) NO ACTUAL EXPERIENCE IN RUNNING ANY BUSINESS OR COMPANY (2) NO FINANCIAL BUSINESS EXPERIENCE (3) NO INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE...just a law degree and be a "organizer" or "scratch my back I'll scratch yours good ole boy".

Amazing.

SHE'S REAL, SHE'S FABULOUS, AND A GREAT PARTNER FOR MCCAIN!

09/07/2008 07:18 AM by Tracy Santrock-Cary NC Real Estate Blog (Fonville Morisey)

Just so there's no question about where I stand personally:  I think Palin is charming, bright, a media darling, and a great boost to McCain's campaign.

HOWEVER, I AM quite concerned about her positions on social issues such as choice, and marriage equality.

On a lighter note, having NOTHING to do with the issues, I wish all candidates would spend some time with a voice coach.  (Well, Barak's control of his vocal instrument is good ... but for the rest, even Sarah could use a little improvement :-)  )

09/07/2008 07:46 AM by Cheryl Johnson, Bob Taylor Properties, Inc., Los Angeles, CA

Kenneth you said: "in order to make Obama look good, die hard Dems need to put him up against someone who they think will make Obama look good.... So, they mistakenly try to make Palin look inexperienced." I thought it was the other way around--I haven't heard the Obama campaign do this! But don't pay attention to me---I am an ignoramus, and a Woman to boot! Which makes me double stupid—right? Who really has enough experience to be President of the United States unless someone who has actually held that office! And I don’t mean experience through your Husband—like Hillary was claiming! I thought that was a joke! Well, you know I been married to a “Brain Surgeon” for twenty years---so now I can go out and perform a surgery on someone—would you be my first!

09/08/2008 02:04 PM by Aida Pinto Real Estate and Loan Consultant (ReoLicensedSpecialist.com)

REO Broker....you sound pretty smart to me!  Your analogy of performing Brain Surgery does appear to be a fairly non-arguable point.  lol

09/08/2008 02:21 PM by David W. Bolick (Network Real Estate, Inc.)

She is the perfect choice for President; let alone, Vice President. I agree with all of her views. I love my guns, people will still get abortions (against the law or not), and I don't want to pay for gay's to have the same benefits as my family!! She is a true Conservative, unlike the fellows in Washington who play one on TV!! This country is ready for a black President. "Just not Obama!"

                                                     PS:  Biden is a SCUMBAG!!

09/09/2008 01:03 AM by Cyberreaper89

What I want to know is WHY this country is so Divided?  We American's didn't used to be this way.  I obviously wasn't paying attention to politics at the time that our country became split in half and stayed that way.

Is it the politicians that divided us for "there" reasons?

Rich...I fail to see your point here.  What is that supposed to mean?

09/11/2008 06:21 AM by David W. Bolick (Network Real Estate, Inc.)

And Obama said in 2004 he will need more experience before he runs for president http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2encXLmPDo

Guess he changed his mind shortly after being elected to the U.S. Senate. So two years as a US  Senator was enough experience, to run for the highest office in the land.

Pacita...obviously 50% or more of the country doesn't see that as a problem.
