I am new to blogging (I started last week, in fact!) but have a friend in the mortgage business in Tuscon who insists that blogging helps to get referrals.  I'm a little (okay, a LOT) older than him -- In fact, my first grandchild was born 4 weeks ago -- but he is adament that I can do it.  He suggested I really start using Active Rain as the mechanism to get in to blogging.

I had joined Active Rain but hadn't really blogged so this week, I spent a lot of time adding to my blog.  I even did a test to see how it works.  I use MSN as my search engine and on Monday, my work website (www.getmyloanonline.com) was on the 3rd page when I did a live search for FHA Destin FL.

I added a lot of blog entries this week and just did the same search - I am now on the first page, 2nd, in fact! 

Okay, Paul Dunn.........you were right!  Blogging DOES help generate business.  In fact, I have had 2 people call me yesterday and today that found me on the internet.  I'm QUITE sure that without blogging on Active Rain, one of my competitors would have gotten that call!
