I'm going through my eMails and here's a new one - it's an agent sending me their listing (1.2MB) with a photo and full discription and a note that it's been reduced! " Serenity Now !!!"  Fellow agents: please consider - What if everyone did this? I'd probably receive 20-25 emails a day.  In Frederick, MD there are over 2000 active listings and I am well aware of all the listings in my client's price range and locations including price reductions, etc..  If we have clients looking for your particular house, we will find it - all by ourselves.  I understand the current market and we all need to do everything we can to sell our listings, but PLEASE - Let's be considerate and use some common sense.

In our MLS, we have about 6,600 listings so it would be overwhelming for sure.  We have seveal agents who do this and the only ones that are a bother for me, are those from out of town or out of state.  Most times, I just hit the delete button on those.

I agree.  There are days when I receive a number of these emails and even taking time to delete them is time taken from other activities!

One thing to consider is that as a listing agent I know how much my listing is BUT I have to trust that the Buyers agent is as smart as me and frankly I dont always see that. In fact it seems alot of agents dont realize that if they put a specific dollar amount in if the listing is a dollar less or more their client wont even see it! Which basically means my listing could be within a dollar of their range but because of incompetence they keep passing it by.

I am definately not insinuating this is your case! In fact I highly doubt you would do this BUT I am slightly defending certain situations where you might want to inform agents directly about a price change. BUT again the only circumstance I would do this and have done this and do it often is when I go through who specifically has shown my listing and then email ONLY those specific people to inform them of the price change. This strategy actually produces results and it is not spamming the entire MLS system of agents with useless emails that have nothing to do with their clients. In fact I hate getting spammed from agents letting me know about some listing they just listed. If I wanted to check out each listing there is a section on our MLS system where it shows ONLY new listings.

Anyways I feel your pain!

Agents have a new toy and believe everyone needs to see their new listing. I wish the delete button could send a bomb back to the sender.

I just took the epro course so its fresh in my mind but doesnt this sort of violate the spam principle since not only did I not give my email to these people but also because its unwanted?

I especially dislike it when an agent sends me an unsolicited listing by e-mail as an attachment.  This is the fastest way for these agents to NOT have their listing shown.  The thing that many agents forget is that many of us are getting our e-mail on our smart phones so sending me a big attachment does nothing but frustrate me.  Send me a second one and your e-mail address will get blocked.

We as agents are to market, to the public and also to fellow Realtors... Maybe when you get an email you remember Delete only takes a second.. You also can click on the unsuscribe section and save the time... of getting frustrated...
Best of luck and enjoy the little things,, the Sun will come out Tomorrow,,, Bet your bottom Dollar!!

Okay...I can't really remember how it goes... ANNIE!!!!!

Oh good! I thought I was the only one that moaned and groaned every time I check my email only to find listings, and listing flyers. I agree, I WILL find your listing if it is in the area of which I work buyers. I am looking daily to see what has been reduced in my area too, so no need to alert the media when you have a price reduction. Just update your MLS listing- we will get it. A much needed message. Thanks!

Please don't think I am crazy, but I love to network.. And if an agent sends me one of her listings, i will be more than happy to view it. it is almost impossible to to know each and every listing on the MLS.

It also opens a door to working close in hand with others. Remember we need them to help sell our listings too

I've been known to send emails out for my listings but it's not a regular occurance.  I don't mind receiving the same from agents and have found several good properties for my buyers that I hadn't seen yet.  Actually, what drives me crazy with the property emails I receive is when they don't provide the basic information and the only way to look it up on the MLS.

Oh yes, so true.... we get sooo many e-mails like this -- does anyone really think we read them all-- if so we would not nothing else at all!
