Yes it will soon be time to anoint the Messiah - and what better place to do that in than a "temple" (the description used by Reuters I might add). Obama temple

This leaked picture from Congressional Quarterly and reprinted here via a link at Glennbeck.com shows the "temple" or if you are feeling really generous, a "White House" setting.

Perhaps somebody should tell this candidate that he hasn't been elected yet!!

The arrogance is incredible, but perhaps understandable considering how long the mainstream media has been bowing down at his feet and getting tingles up their own legs!

Wouldn't it be spectacular if Bill Clinton had the guts to stand up tonight and repeat the famous and less than generous comments he made about Obama during the primary campaign?

Anyway, for those of you who have been waiting for the alter, here it is!

WOW!  I can't believe that.  You know, fake it til you make it?  I'm sure someone thought that was a great idea but I find that presumptous and very offensive.

Then again, so was Hillary's flip flop speech.  I guess with Obama paying off her NEGATIVE 24 MILLION dollar campaign fund, he BOUGHT her undying support.  UGGH!  Why is politics so UGLY!?

He really does think he is god...Doesn't he? I hope McCain wins so badly... Cause if nothing else, I just want to hear his speech of accepting defeat.

Welll I hope the best person win. Is perception to think Obama is arrogant or it maybe other things from folks that think he is arrogant since he is not caucasian

08/27/2008 03:53 PM by Keji Iluyomade (Fairfax Realty, Inc)

I guess when you have people from all over the country standing up and chanting your name over and over again, it becomes nearly impossible to keep your feet planted on the ground.  I'm amazed at how much the candidates "gloat" in this situation.   The convention looks more like a "love-me fest" than a political compaign to fill an office that represents the American people.   Is this election merely a popularity contest?  Yikes! I doubt other country's rulers/dictators/presidents care whether or not our new president is popular with the American people.  Let's get down to business and talk about issues!

Simon - the onecombine this with 'American Prayer" and this is really geting freaky...

08/27/2008 04:00 PM by Susan McQuaide (Keller Williams)

Ok, I have to comment again, cause I just found this on Newsbusters from ABC morning show:

On the Obama Messiah watch, in the last half-hour of ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday, anchor Chris Cuomo interviewed photographer Pete Souza who has a new book of Obama photographs. In addition to cooing over photos of the Obama daughters and Obama with the Kennedys, Cuomo highlighted photos of women looking adoringly at Obama: "And now, of course, the insight you're able to capture out on the trail. You say, it's so much like a religious experience for people as they meet him.Let's see the view that you get. Look at them with their hands clasped." Hallowed be thy name, Barack?

This is truly getting ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

08/27/2008 04:17 PM by Susan McQuaide (Keller Williams)

Simon,  I guess Obama is trying to use the assumptive sale technique.  Do you think it will work in an election?

08/27/2008 04:21 PM by Iam Gone (Until Next Time)

Simon:

Interesting comment at our blog about Obama and Politics.  Perhaps Bill Clinton will show his true colors.  We'll see.

I can't believe that he hasn't been anointed yet.  This whole thing is a Rock Star appointment as the savior.  So ludicrous.

08/27/2008 04:49 PM by Larry Bettag - Cherry Creek Mortgage

Arrogance is arrogance, regardless of who, what, gender, race, ethnicity, orientation, religion (or non-religion). It goes beyond confidence. Arrogance is probably part of what did Senator Clinton in, this was supposed to be, after all, her coronation.

Arrogance is playing the race card while accusing your opponent of going to play the race card. Arrogance is a comment like "clinging to their guns and religion". Arrogance is praising the French for speaking English and berating Americans for not speaking French while at the same time not wanting to require immigrants, legal or not, to learn English. Arrogance is presuming 8 years in the white house when he hasten even become the official candidate. Arrogance is complaining about comments regarding his wife, making her off limits and then declaring she would be among his closest advisors. And on, and on, and on, and on.......

08/27/2008 05:01 PM by Mike Saunders (Keller Williams Realty - Greater Athens)

Arrogance is one thing - politics is another - This guy has alot of people believing.  He has shown me nothing yet.

This would be a good year for a strong third party candidate.

Toga Party anyone? This man has the pomp and arrogance of Julius Ceasar. Biden is his Marc Antony.

08/27/2008 07:22 PM by Nicholas Goglucci, CRS ~ CLHMS, e-PRO ~ Re/Max Professional in South Florida (RE/Max In Motion, Inc.)

Obama is a disgusting arrogant man, playing the "race"card to try to win the office of President. I can't believe there is anyone out there that is blind enough to even vote for him. His wife (the lovely Michelle) GAG!!! is not even close to Jackie Kennedy, wish the media would knock off the B.S. comparing them in likeness.

08/27/2008 07:49 PM by NJ Bosley (*)

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I think it was Bill Clinton who said tonight: "People have always been impressed by the power of our example, than the example of our power!" - I wonder if Obama got the message????

Isn't healthy competition WONDERFUL?  I bet all the Republicans are grinding their teeth tonight!

Speaking as a Conservative, I can tell you there's no grinding here. There is a mountain of Bill clinton material slamming Obama. So was he lying then or is he lying now? And of course his VP choice stated publicly TWICE that Obama does not have what it takes to be President. Dems are the ones scratching their heads when they look at the polls. Three days of the convention gone - polls show a dead heat!

08/27/2008 09:52 PM by Simon Conway (Picket Fence Realty)

Keji- Sorry to break it to you, but Obama is half caucasion! What in the world do you mean, he is not caucasion? Just because he has chosen to dis his roots does not change his genes!

08/27/2008 10:22 PM by Nestor & Katerina Gasset Realtors® Wellington Florida Luxury Homes (International Properties and Investments, Inc.)

Simon- This is scary stuff, like I said before. Obama as the savior and the adoring icon of our times, the media promoting him and then the fact that his wife is the new Jackie? Please! She does not even come close. The race card will be played a lot more. My daughters are already getting it from friends, oh, you are a racist if you don't vote for Obama! What kind of sh#$ is this? You HAVE to VOTE for OBAMA or YOU are a RACIST! Hmmm, if that is is not the race card, I don't know what is.

08/27/2008 10:28 PM by Nestor & Katerina Gasset Realtors® Wellington Florida Luxury Homes (International Properties and Investments, Inc.)

Interesting.  Kind of like all of these McCain poses in front of similar backgrounds??

08/27/2008 11:22 PM by Aaron Gordon, Home Loan Consultant, Las Vegas, NV (Home Loan Consultant)

Katerina--- Racism is an interesting question in Florida.   A Quinnipiac University poll this week found voters saying that they want a Democrat in the White House by 44-39 percent.

However, when you ask them Obama or McCain, Obama trails McCain in Florida, according to the same poll.

How else do you explain the "any Democrat but this one" poll in Florida?  Sounds a bit racist to me.

How about this quote today??   "A lot of white workers ... and quite frankly a lot of union members believe he's the wrong race," AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka told a breakfast meeting of Michigan delegates.

Racism is an unfortunate part of this election, just as its been a very ugly part of our country since the day it was founded.

08/27/2008 11:32 PM by Aaron Gordon, Home Loan Consultant, Las Vegas, NV (Home Loan Consultant)

What a mess, Obama is playing the I will believe therefore I am,  He is exercising the Secret, maybe Oprah gave him a copy...Act as if and it will come true..I am acting as if McCain is the President...How about you, Save America not the Democrats..

08/28/2008 12:31 AM by Mary Thomas PV,Torr,Beach Cities,Pas,Realtor & more* (Torrance, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach,Pasadena,Arcada & Mon)

Aaron- It works both ways. I have seen whites racist against blacks and having gone to an all black school when I was in 9th grade, with only 10 white kids in the whole school, I have seen blacks racist against whites. I was called racist 'honkey, cracker, etc' names and yet no one got in trouble for that.  Neither is right, but you also can't make people unracist either. You can't force people to think a certain way or another way. There will always be racism even if it is only unspoken.

I still have not seen Obama get up in public and say he is a white man or even a half white man but I do hear him say he is a black man. Does the white erase itself? I have grandchildren who are mixed and I want them to know both sides of their genes and their heritage. I don't want them to erase me from their lives when they grow into teenagers because I am white and it would be the 'cool' thing to do. Katerina

No teeth grinding here. November is going to be ugly again for the Dems. I am actually starting to feel sorry for them.

08/28/2008 09:56 AM by Kevin Robinson (Crownline Home Builders)

Katerina - What do you mean Barack has chosen to dis his roots?  He appreciates both sides of his family.  In fact, one might even argue he appreciates all 3 sides.  Although I have been told he refers to himself as 'black', I don't believe I've actually heard him say so.  If that is the case, I'm pretty sure it's more based on the age old 'one drop' theory.

08/28/2008 12:01 PM by Tchaka Owen (Elite Coastal Properties)

Tchaka-  You are right- THe old age rule is one drop makes you ........ Anyone that says is not about race is just kidding. Many are just not bold enough to admit it publicly!!!!!.

08/28/2008 02:53 PM by Keji Iluyomade (Fairfax Realty, Inc)

So let me get this straight. No one in the Republican campaign has dropped the race card. In fact apart from Bill Clinton I can't think of anyone who has said anything about Obama's race. Apart from Obama that is. Despite that Keji, you are saying this is all about race. Is this the first salvo in the "why Obama lost" debate? "America is racist and that's why Obama is not President". True insanity!

08/28/2008 04:05 PM by Simon Conway (Picket Fence Realty)

Racism in this election? Which side is it on? According to a recent WSJ poll, 8% of caucasions will not vote for Obama because he his black. However, 20% of blacks will vote for Obama precisely because he is black.

Personally, I know of many caucasions that were ready to vote for Clinton because she is a woman and are ready to vote for Obama because he is black. Neither race not gender is a qualification for the presidency.

Simon - I believe Olbermann has brought out the race card, at least against Clinton.

08/28/2008 04:56 PM by Mike Saunders (Keller Williams Realty - Greater Athens)

You might have to correct yourself, Simon.  I'm not sure Obama has said anything about his race.

I just got into this conversation with 2 different people over the past 24 hours and although I have read that he refers to himself as black, I have not heard it from his mouth.

08/28/2008 06:33 PM by Tchaka Owen (Elite Coastal Properties)

Mike - I urge you to find a better example.  While neither scenario is good, voting for someone because of race isn't as vile as NOT voting for someone because of race.

08/28/2008 06:35 PM by Tchaka Owen (Elite Coastal Properties)

We need to get away from the whole race discussion. Twice this week I have been called a racist because I am against Obama.. This is helping noone I am against Obama because I am pro-life.

08/28/2008 06:52 PM by Hugh Krone Sussex County NJ Century 21 Realtor (Century21BillSemmens)

Nothing to correct Tchaka - unless you wish to correct yourself. From ABC News of August 1:

Sen. Barack Obama's chief strategist conceded that the Democratic presidential candidate was referring to his race when he said Republicans were trying to scare voters by suggesting Obama "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

Of course the fact that no one on the Republican side has ever said anything like that lead John McCain's camp to say the following from the same ABC report:

"The comment had triggered a charge Thursday from Sen. John McCain's campaign manager that Obama had "played the race card... from the bottom of the deck."

08/28/2008 07:42 PM by Simon Conway (Picket Fence Realty)

Tchaka - I know we disagree on that, but prefering one candidate over the other because of skin color is racist.

08/28/2008 08:15 PM by Mike Saunders (Keller Williams Realty - Greater Athens)

What has this got to do with the Temple of Obama? Can anyone tell me this is not over the top. Even Tchaka has to agree on this one...maybe not.

08/28/2008 08:28 PM by Nicholas Goglucci, CRS ~ CLHMS, e-PRO ~ Re/Max Professional in South Florida (RE/Max In Motion, Inc.)

Simon - I am aware of the quote you pasted, but that still begs the question as to what race he considers himself.  What that quote does is eliminate white.

Mike - Preferring one candidate over another base on skin color is by definition racist, we don't disagree on that.  But I might have to refer you to my blog which generated a lot of heat.  I won't go into details, what I will say is that your example would have been more accurate if you compared the 8% to the percentage of blacks who would not vote for McCain solely because he's white.

Nicholas - I agree, this has nothing to do with the temple.  I don't think it's over the top.  Now if he had hot women in Roman or Greek garb and olive branches in their hair waving at the crowd, perhaps that's taking it one step too far.

08/28/2008 10:49 PM by Tchaka Owen (Elite Coastal Properties)

Simon - What are you talking about? Where is the temple? Why not just stick to the issues?

I mean, there was a picture of Sarah Palin taken from above the podium that looked like she was standing in the middle of a s-w-a-t*** giving the salute. Fortunately, the "liberal" media outlet that had the picture realized what it looked like a took it off the website in minutes. Only a crazy person would even give that credence; but giving it credence is as silly as all of this Obama Messiah talk.

All of these comments are just sour grapes - reminds me of slacker kids in school who picked on the kids who actually studied and did what they were supposed to.

For the people who say they don't know what he stands for - the information is on his website and has been for months - or perhaps you can search for the text of his speech - if you can't or won't read it, there's no helping you.

09/05/2008 03:57 PM by Janice

Hi janice - your fame precedes you. Yes he is not the Messiah. SOmeone should tell him that before he again tells the world 9as he did the night he beat Clinton) that "this is the moment when the seas began to fall and the planet began to heal". Yep - he does not think he is the messiah.

09/05/2008 04:04 PM by Simon Conway (Picket Fence Realty)

Well, my first mistake was to try to find the speech based on the quote you provided. I searched the news sites, alas, the only sites I could find referencing the quote were the neo-con ones.

So, I finally found the text of the speech, and Obama was talking about us, all of us, the American peopple working together to slow global warning - you know the rising of the ocean is caused by global warming, right? Or maybe all the scientists have it wrong?

So, in the interest of those pesky things like fact and truth, here's the excerpt from the speech by Obama June 3, 2008.

But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

09/05/2008 08:41 PM by Janice

You are of course looking in the wrong place. it was the night he beat Clinton. I think that was early June. This is the DIRECT QUOTE from the Messiah: "This is the moment when the rise of the oceans begin to slow and our planet began to heal."

09/05/2008 10:02 PM by Simon Conway (Picket Fence Realty)

Simon, perhaps you should try actually reading my comments - it has the date as well as the direct quote.

Simon wrote (my responses are in bold): You are of course looking in the wrong place. it was the night he beat Clinton (um, yeah, Simon - read comment post where I clearly showed the date June 3, 2008). I think that was early June (read my post). This is the DIRECT QUOTE from the Messiah: "This is the moment when the rise of the oceans begin to slow and our planet began to heal."

try reading my comments again. I'll make it easier for you by reposting it and highligting the direct quote.

But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. . . . and McCain walks onto a stage that looks like someone is giving us the middle finger.

Simon ~ there is just NO showing the blind what they can not (CHOSE NOT) to see! Even if Obama HAD something to do with "healing" the planet, just by him saying that it would begin with his nomination makes him sound like he's a god or something. He is such an ARROGANT & POMPOUS little man. He knew EXACTLY what he was insinuating by putting up that type of backdrop.

He had not one ounce of COOTH (that's TACTto all ya'll not suthern) about him.

I honestly don't think there is anything to worry about in this election. I used to think there were a lot of people who were falling for this guy but there really isn't. The media wanted us to believe it so that we'd go with who they were telling us was the most popular guy but the more he talks the more people he loses. It looks like the only people he will have voting for him are still fortunately outnumbered by the rest of us.

I will be blogging about this soon, but I'm going to be offering free rides to the voting location in my area come election time.

If real estate is slow in your area, what better way to use your time than to make sure the right guy gets elected by helping people get to the voting booth?

The rhetoric (on both sides) astounds me, but it shouldn't...

Tell me about what your stance and practice and implementation is and will be regarding the following:

-  The Economy

-  Health Care

-  The Price of Fuel

-  Domestic Policy

-  Foreign Policy

-  One term senators receiving healthy pensions and health care... for life. (ok, I am steering the wheel with this one... a tad;-)

-  Taxes, of any kind.

-  Education

And that's the short list.  I'm not trying to steer the wheel (not yet at least) but there's a list and I checked it twice.  No particular order at all.

As far as race, religion, children, slanderous drama of any kind... I don't care.  It's not my concern.  My concern is the above, I want to know about all that.

Thank you!

Jason Sardi

(pssst, I didn't forget about the housing industry... but try me.  Before that though, answer the above.  Drama does us little good.)

... or I'll just do my own research.  Journalism seems dead.

09/07/2008 02:50 AM by Jason Sardi, Pennsylvania Mortgage Broker (First Choice Equity Group Inc.)

It is one thing as PROFESSIONALS to discuss the political issues as mentioned in Jason Sardi's comment but all this mud slinging serves NO PURPOSE.

You can disagree with every Political policy Obama stands for BUT some of you are waging the most Ungodly attacks imaginable. Aren't YOU the ones Playing God making the Bold judgmental statements you are about this man?

Which one of you has crawled into his skin and walked in His shoes to make such outrageous comments on such subjects as him being Muslim, non Christian and he thinks he's the Messiah?

To you who are "claiming" to be Christian and behaving this way. Explain to me, if you can how Jesus agrees with what you are doing to Obama.

Stick to the Facts people. We are educated professionals. I don't call slanderous non christian behavior "letting off steam" Take a cold shower.
