...just using a PR5 site to drive traffic to one of my own new sites, which contains the keyword I'm after. Sneaky trick, eh? Well, it ain't tough.. I often use ".info" sites for this, because they're a buck or two on godaddy.

This site offers a complimentary whitepaper about some of our newest research into real estate marketing strategies.

And for anyone readin here on active rain, there are some tricks in that whitepaper that I have not posted here! I can't give ALL my tricks away here :)

I think everyone here should be doing the same thing, just for your local market: give away the "Springfield's Top 10 Hidden Gems" (local points of interest, some secret deal from a local pizza place that's really great, who knows) for your town...and you'll of course develop a list of local residents.

Notice the page design on this is designed to look more anonymous and official and "whitepaper-ish". Even the google ads are placed there to make it look like it's an ad-driven site (ha ha, it's not, it's me goofing off driving up my page-rank for "real estate marketing")...try this yourself for your keyword - it works. This is a stealth site, of course. It's funny that instinctively over time people are growing to mentally expect either ads or an upsell, so my hypothesis (I'll do a multivariate on this next week and post my results) is that the ads actually HELP (vs. the usual "bleed off content"). we'll see. A/B testing will tell the truth! See http://www.google.com/websiteoptimizer/tour.html for more info on testing.

Hi Roger,  Being a " Stealth site " - won't this result in a Google whupping ?

Good question and no... a stealth site just means the identity looks a bit anonymous, i.e. it's not clear that Movoxo owns this site from day 1.

Google "slaps" you for having irrelevant or poorly converting content. If you bid on "springfield real estate" then show a bunch of viagra ads, google "slaps" you for delivering a bad user experience. That said, if you have a great site that's very relevant and most people who click it don't "bounce" back to google, and take some action (i.e. request free report, buy something, whatever) then they reward you via lower cost-per-click higher relevancy score, allowing you to buy those clicks cheaper.

Follow? Stealth sites just mean no branding, that's all.

HI Roger will this type of set up work for me trying to generate leads for people for Costa Rica Real EState.  My clients are all from the USA, Canada, and Europe so I really don't have a local market to capture.  Give me some ideas to capture more leads for people that are interested in Costa Rica real estate.  Thanks

hey Lile(?)... this trick definitely works for you, just use Google Adwords keywords suggestion tool (free, setup an adwords account) to identify the top keywords, then see my other blog posts to SEO your site for that keyword.

Good luck! Also, I know a guy, a marketer, named David Frey using Send Out Cards in Costa Rica making GREAT money (can't say totals due to SEC, but I can say it's more per mo than many make in a year).. that's a great tool for marketing to US people buying vacation property i.e. followup on leads.
